Oolite on 90" Screen...

Just installed 1.74.3 beta on my old cobbled together games machine and noticed I currently have no shaders.
The graphics card is a NVidia 6800 GT, so I'm just downloading the updates and will report back.
Screen looks fab though, just need to ensure my Oolite is up to scratch!
It's not been connected to the internet for 3 years, so it's also downloading a stack of MS updates... may have to wait a while!
Cheers,
Drew.

Given my old machine is a 6600GT you should definitely have shader support. FX5900 onwards supported an advanced enough version of OpenGL to have full drivers, I know because that's what I started with!
Was does the log say about OpenGL support?
BTW, have seen the pics on FB - very nice!

I suspect it's the driver, as it's all extremely out of date at the moment. 33 out of 49 updates installed.
Here's a pic of 'another game' for those wanting to see the screen so far. Just got the boards up and speakers up so far, need to do a lot more fettling, but you get the general idea.
Cheers,
Drew.

If you shot it today you could submit it to Ridley Scott for Britain in a day.

I love the gratuitous slow zoom in of the ship and then name "Oolite".
The docking rings really do look like the weak link now don't they? (Was it coincidental the main station was a Trade Station?) Your shader set-up looks just fine
(and that looked like Win7 - I thought you had an XP machine that hadn't been connected to the internet for 3 years...)
Love the thumbs up at the end!

You're right - especially as you see the XP boot screen - it's just the large icons on the start bar - same way I've got Win7 set up - I will edit so I only look a bit of a wally...

Definitely Win XP. I don't think this rig will even run 7.
I hate a cluttered desktop so I've always used the 'quick' shortcuts folder on the taskbar, set so the icons are in a row above and the running apps are below. Set the icons to 'large' and you've got IMHO the best looking standard XP desktop you can have.
This PC is a circa 2004 vintage, so pretty old hat now. 3 Gig Pentium 4 with 1 Gig of ram. I originally bought it in order to play Homeworld2. I might see if I can get a memory upgrade for it. 1 Gig seems tiny nowadays - I remember it being quite a big deal at the time!
Cheers,
Drew.
ps. Love the comment from Fatleaf on the youtube clip!

that's looking cracking. you really need to get that screen sorted asap to one flat sheet though.
