Firing ECM Hardened Missiles Causes Game To Crash

I hate to start in on this again, but this problem isn't only associated with the special Merlin I was flying. It has happened using several different ships. I even switched to the bigger ECM missiles, thinking it was just the smaller ones that were causing the problem, but that is not the case. Here is my latest log where the game just shut down after I launched two hardened missiles in a row. Notice that this does NOT occur when I fire the Killit Super Missile. Never has. It is always with the hardened missiles.

Crud, I didn't even notice all those shader errors until now. What's that all about? Should I just remove the Venom ship from AddOns folder? Man, I hate it when I have to dump a ship oxp. :?

I can't get the whole Latest Log to fit in any less than three posts, so I cut out the middle. Maybe there is still enough to analyze the problem? I suppose it could just be my computer, too. That kind of sucks. :(

Yeah, that is always on. I have never understood exactly what it was meant for, as I never hear anything spoken but the Space Station chatter, and the countdown voice, and "scoop, scoop". All messages aimed directly at me just come up as words on the screen. Why would that cause a game crash when firing ECM missiles?

Actually you are describing the speech coming from the BGS OXP. I am talking about the Spoken Messages option in Game Options. They are different things.

The reason I am asking if it's on is because we recently fixed a crasher related to spoken messages.

I take what I said about spoken messages being on back. I just looked, and spoken messages are off.

Please remove any OXPs causing errors in the log, then try to reproduce the crash. Best if we try to fix things from a cleanly working base.

mandoman and another_commander, perhaps this problem is related to this:

something to do with the missile position on the merlin or perhaps earlier in the thread where there are errors related to the thargoid missile position and some galnavy errors as well.

mandoman, why didn't you let us know this problem was similar to the post link above and has the previous problem been solved?

Must like watching us run around in circles. I thought I remembered mandoman having this problem before so a search of his posts confirmed my hunch.

Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

The shader errors are easily fixed. The problem with the Venom is well documented. I'm not sure if KW has updated his oxps or not, but it can be solved by deleting a line from one of the shader files. Also, the test script included can be safely deleted. I was having trouble trying to work out where the Venom was installed, as I couldn't see it in the oxp list, until I realised that mandoman had cut parts of the log file. 'Tis one of the eagles oxps which is asking for the neolite shader, if I recall correctly. I think it is ACDK's Eagle set. It is called, but was accidentally left out of the oxp. Can be easily found in Simon B's neolite shipset.

I see mandoman you are using Behemoth 2.6 and GalNavy 5.3.0. There is an updated version of GalNavy 5.4.2 so try using the latest one and see if the problem is still there. Here is the link, download at bottom of post:

OK, I'll get right on it. I try to keep track of the updates, but I always seem to miss a couple.

Did you also note that practically no one else was having this problem, and it seemed to all come down to it being the fault of the Merlin I was using? I liked the Merlin enough, that I just put up with it, but now I'm flying other ships, with missiles in different mounted position coordinates, and it is happening with them as well. I'm sorry master, I really am trying. :oops:

Sorry about that. It was late, and I became flustered at not fitting the whole dang Log in one post. I should have been more careful.

OK, I replace the GalacticNavy.oxp with the newest version, and I took ACDK's Eagles out, and replaced it with Simon B's neolight shipset. That seemed to clean up those shader problems, but then I had to remove the Venom.oxp because it was still causing shader errors. I also removed the Firewasp.oxp, because I kept getting any error that the shipyard.plist was not showing it as a property, even though the Firewasp itself was showing up in game play without any apparent problems. i also removed the Thargon Witchspace oxp, and the Behemoth Wars oxp. I don't think I necessarily had to remove the Behemoth Wars oxp, but it said in Latest Log that it was basically worthless without the Thargon Witchspace Wars oxp. The only error messages I'm getting now are listed below, but I can't figure out which oxp is the culprit. Which one has the Oresrian Trader? I have no idea what the GW-radars is.

I'm getting those same errors in my log file after installing some new mods. I've found entries for those (GW-constore and GW-radars) in Ramirez' Resistance Commander's shipdata.plst file.
