Background space and nebula WAY too dark

Hey all,

I have a gtx460 with the latest drivers and the latest version of Oolite.

How can I increase the background light and stars and increase their density? The space is WAY too dark and I think it may be a graphics card / driver issue ?

I've tried gamma but that doesn't seem to help on stars and nebula. Also if I use star density oxps, then the stars are there but still way too dark.

Thanks

Can you post your latest.log and confirm your graphics settings in Oolite (Shader Effects and Reduced Detail settings). A screenshot might be useful too. Shift 8 will put a screenshot in your snapshots folder which is a subfolder of your save game folder.

In the universal section of planetinfo.plist, try adjusting the ambient light level and the multiplier constants for stars and nebulae. Something like

Code: Select all

ambient_level = 1.25;
star_count_multiplier = 20;
nebula_count_multiplier = 5;
should make a notable difference in how space looks. Make sure you Shift-restart for the changes to take effect.
