Deposed

A few weeks ago I began this mission after jumping into G4, and ended up in trouble with the GalCops because I transported a Tyrant, unknowingly, away from those trying to bring him to justice. I lost every credit I earned in that little fling. Well, I'm back to G4, and since the Deposed oxp is suppose to be open ended, I thought I would reinstall it and see what kind of mission I could get this time. I turned down the first offer from an obvious supporter of the Tyrant I had given transport. Since then, I have jumped from system, to system, nearly completely across G4, and have only seen a couple of news bulletins concerning the movements of the mentioned ex-tyrant. Is there more to this mission, or should I just move on? :?

It's been a while since I played Deposed, and not having a copy of the oxp on my computer at the moment, I can't be sure exactly what stage you are at. It's possible that you've quit the mission by refusing an offer from someone, but I vaguely remember that there were a couple of choices available at certain points, and you may have taken a route I didn't take. That you're still getting news bulletins is probably positive - it means things are still happening, so you may well still get some more missions.

Also, I seem to recall with some of the G4 missions that there things often proceed only after you've made a certain number of jumps since the last mission screen/bulletin. Also, in one of either Deposed or Lovecats, things would only happen if you were docked at a planet whose id number had a certain factor, to increase the appearance of randomness. I repeat that it's been a while since I played these, and I may be remembering things incorrectly. If you really want to be sure that there is more to come, you could post the related mission variables stored in your save game file, and I could take a look through the oxp and check whereabouts you are.

When i remember correctly the mission starts with 3 different lines that later on are bundled to two story lines. They are mainly the same and partly depend on the legal status during the first acceptance. Halfway you get a choice to switch to the other line. The main difference is that when following the most 'clean' line, you get additional info from a police officer, making the mission goals more easier to understand.

OK, from what the two of you are saying, there should still be more to come. I've been hacking my way through G4, which has been entertaining, so I'll just keep on blasting away. Thanks guys. :)
