Hey Uncle Reno, it's just not fair, your always on the board first in the morning, wreaking spambot mayhem, it looks like I'm going to have to give up my paper round to get in there before you

Well, it's always the early bird who gets the worm! If you want the target practice I suppose I could start having a lie in but I just love the smell of crispy spambot in the morning!

To avoid dupklicates, why don't we add the name of the spambot, reusing the same membership number is a bit confusing.

Well, as Ahruman marks each post as he deletes them then it should be safe to assume that unmarked posts are still 'live bots' IMO.

I don't understand or see that, but then I am an old codger.

This is a busy board the Big A would have to be checking the board every few minutes, to keep up with all the spam assassins .

If a post has an asterisk at the top, the listed users have been checked by an admin (currently me in 100% of cases). Therefore, a user number which is in a recent post without an asterisk has not been checked and posting it again would be posting a duplicate. (“Recent” means since the asterisking began, several months ago.)

OK, sorry, I'll explain at more length.
When we notice a bot (or somebody we suspect is one), we'll post the link to the profile here and as Ahruman deletes (or not) the profile, he adds an asterisk (*) to the post that pointed him towards the bot.
Therefore, if a post has "*" in the post (generally the first line), this means that Ahruman has acted on this and if we find that a bot has the same profile number then we can safely report it.
On the other hand, as I write this post, all previous posts reporting bots from yesterday evening haven't been marked and so if I, for example, reported profile 1837, I would be duplicating Cmdr McLanes post.
Sorry to write an essay ( ) but hopefully it explains the system for you.

EDIT: Ahruman types faster than me! :)

Whale oil beef hocked, I hadn't noticed that, thanks for the explanation, you are a gentleman and a scholar sir.
