Actually, I already knew all that. I just worded things weirdly. The way I worded it was mainly based around trying not to be offensive, but it seems that it came off as me being a noob. Sorry.

Is there a way to force the mark to eject? I have been trouble getting them to. I am familiar with javascript and plists, so I could edit in code if neccessary. Also, who currently maintains this oxp? I am a bit confused as I am being responded to by 3 different developers.

Why do you want them to eject? The whole point is to kill them and that is most easily done by destroying their ship as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I'll assume you haven't read these:

Thanks for the detailed report Ramen. Much appreciated. :D

It seems that the hold isn't cleaned after murder or handing the victim to GalCop. That's a bug, not a feature, although some may find it otherwise. I have very little time to test, so If you could be so kind and test, if this version fixes the problem: https://app.box.com/s/v0804xnuxriy943myilfile8kueg22ys.

If it works, I'll update it to the manager.
LittleBear wrote:
As spara says though, the hold not being cleared is a bug as one way or another whichever choice you make he shouldn't still be there.
On the off chance you're screwing with me, please stop. It's both counterproductive and mean.

Ramen, no one's deliberately been mean here. I'm sorry, if you feel that way.

Smivs, as a friendly board member is trying to help you by telling you how this OXP is meant to be played. It's about killing marks.

LittleBear, as the original author of the OXP on the other hand is telling you how he had to find a solution to the situation where the player plays the OXP other way that what is was meant to be played. Meaning what to do when the player scoops the escape pod rather than kills it.

I, as the current maintainer mixed in, identified the bug you're reporting and offered a fixed version to test that with very high probability fixes the bug. I'm very busy with other projects, so I had no time to thoroughly test it. If I had, I would have put it straight to the manager.

And finally, there's no correct way to play the OXP. There's just a way that the author has thought it would be played. If you want to play it any other way, there's no one stopping you. Just realize that by scooping and surrendering the mark to the GalCop might have negative effect on your RandomHits courier.

Sorry about that. It is easy, especially over the internet, to sometimes get the wrong idea. What I meant was if he was screwing with me. Not that he was screwing with me. I do not currently believe, especially with the amount of regard Smivs gets in this community, that he is, in fact, decieving me. What I wrote could have been better written like this:

Code: Select all

if (smivs_screwing_with_me == true)
{
    player.consoleMessage("Stop.");
}
Anyway, the new version works.

Great :D .

OXP updated to version 1.10.4.

* Fixes the scooped victim bug reported by Ramen.

Definitely not screwing with you :) I didn't realise you were testing this. No offence taken BTW.
Having read back this has been quite interesting - I only used RH for a short while (not really my thing) and hadn't considered what might happen if you actually scooped the Mark. The person who hired you might even put a price on you for failure - imagine your Mark had a load of evidence against them and you'd just handed this star witness over to the Police!

I seem to recall that Leafy would scoop the mark's pod, then pop it into the nearest star - or was that in Assassins?

Last time I scooped a Mark, while docking, I was offered the chance to pour a bucket full of deadly worms into that escape capsule to finish the job. Not an OXP for weak nerves. I was quite suprised to find that bucket in my inventory an since then I wonder, who left it behind and why. Shall I keep the worms, now that they have been fed?

:oops: What an idiot I am... I posted the above way back in January. It was only last night that I checked my installed expansions only to realise that I had installed "Random Hits Resources" but not "Random Hits" itself. No wonder I couldn't find any spacebars.
