There is no greater career than cleansing the Oonivers of pirate scum and collecting a shed load of cash (all that spoil legally "confiscated" and at times high bounties, [wiki]Random_Hits[/wiki] [wiki]Galactic_Navy[/wiki]) for it as well the fame and glory of standing up for the good and honest traders out there.

Quedle - Recexela (G2) Witchspace exit.
'The Link' v GalCop.

Confronted with a scene of chaos, two frigates (which i though was navy at first until i checked the scanner), were in a full scale battle with a police viper squadron. My rear sheilds immediately come under fire from an asp (obviously an escort), and are weakening by the second. I return the compliment to the escort with a hardhead.
The asp fires up it's injectors and flies off to play at cat and mouse with the missile. With the asp out of the way, i turn to face one of the frigates. Injectors engaged, orbs of plasma fire home in on my ship like angry wasps, which forces me into a full lock starboard roll with a slight down pitch. This effectively causes the ship to corkscrew in order to avoid the plasma bursts. With the assistance from the police, and my last missile, the frigate is finally destroyed.
With my part in the fight over, i eventually have to limp my heavily damaged craft over to the constore to clean up the battle wounds, and leave the GalCop to mop up the remaining frigate.

Looks like the plans of the link criminal organisation have been put back somewhat.

I've been out of the spacelanes for a while (pesky Real Life TM) but this thread reminded me of an old incident from my bounty hunting career.

I'd stopped off at a space bar for a quick beverage and perhaps news of a tempting contract in the vicinity and was rather pleased to find a valuable bounty target en route to my next destination. A few jumps later and I was sharing a system with potentially 8000 buckshee credits.

As the system was an Anarchy I had to splash a couple of pirate groups as I torused towards the station and just as I'd finished off the second group I received word that my target had been liquidated by someone else. Foul language may have been employed at this point.

Making the best of the situation I headed for the station to refuel and offload cargo. I dropped out of Torus a few seconds later when I encountered of all things Commander Wyvern in his Caddy Omega heading towards the witchpoint. Suddenly I had my suspicions of exactly who had snaffled my 8000Cr.

These suspicions were confirmed when shortly after passing Wyvern I encountered the remnants of my targets escorts. Clearly the meagre bounties on these peons had been beneath the notice of the mighty Caddy.

The moral of the story? No matter your combat rating or how high you might stand in the bounty hunters guild, there's always someone in the eight charts with a sharper killer instinct than you. Travel safely friends and watch your six.

Been doing ‘black ops’… but GalCop won’t allow me to talk about it yet… they even censored this pic for reasons of Galactic security:

It's hard to take those Thargoids seriously when they're calling you poetry.

It's very easy to take them seriously, when you're surrounded by five or six warships in interstellar space.

Brave El Viejo, fighter Ace,
OK, he's not a pretty face,
but the Bugs in interstellar space,
are very soon put in their place.

Perhaps they're roaming alien comedians who are used to having much worse than tomatoes thrown at them.

Even then, I find myself chuckling as they tear my Cobra apart.

Reporting in with my first encounter with the 14 Eagle MkIIs at Zaonce.
@CheeseRedux, Thanks for the suggestion but I'd only arse something up trying

On first entering the system they were there waiting as expected. There was some delay this time before they turned hostile and the ferocity of the intial attack was lower. I guess I don't appear as such an easy target this time 8)

I flew into the thick of it and let loose a few missiles to see how they'd react, they gave me quite a pounding so I injectored away to recouperate.
At witchpoint ( ) an unidentified ship with escorts jump into the sytem and draw the attention of one or two Eagles.

Sniped a couple from LR whilst the sheilds recharged.

The furball was then joined by a flight of police ships and together we managed to whittle the numbers down

Normal service resumes
I scored 10. Police and others 4 and I think the eagles took out 1 police and 3 of the civillian ships, which I never did ID.

I have since tackled the Eagles a few time and haven't died yet but I have noticed that the police either join in or are just off scanner range when I've cleaned up. I wonder if this is written in to the code with the whole Eagle encounter or is it that this is just one of those heavily policed systems.
Anyway, a fun time was had by all and I will leave the code in place to have another attempt next time I go around the Ooniverse.

The police ships are not in the Eagle2.oxp code. Zaonce is a Corporate State, which is the most heavily policed system type, so it's simply very likely to have a patrol nearby.

A witchpoint blockade… three GalCop ships, having a tough time with a large group of pirates. Rolling Thunder emerges and as I'm running 'clean', I wade straight in… what a glorious firefight. My presence tips the balance, but it’s close-run, and I take some damage… it’s well worth it, as I get to watch a GalCop Constrictor go up against a pirate Constrictor… so busy am I watching, that I start to take heavy damage from a couple of bandits on my six. I had to light the injectors and duck out of it to recharge… by the time I returned, more Vipers had arrived and GalCop were busy mopping-up the last few baddies, but there was one Cobra Mk III left for me to splash. Then it was head for station space, for some repairs and more ordnance… and a Zaquessoian evil juice or two.
