I can see 2 possible issues:
1: something went wrong with installing the OXP/OXZ.
2: installation went fine - but the mission shows no sign of having started.

1. I've played this as an OXP and an OXZ and both have worked for me. However like a lot of the missions that have been around for a while, it may not be fully functional any more. I notice the wiki says
Please note: It is not advised to use this OXP with Oolite v1.77 or later.
though whether that applies to the OXZ version I don't know. I've never completed the mission (if indeed it can be completed) so I don't know if it's working entirely as intended. Otoh I am still running the OXZ anyway, still playing mission events when they occur, and enjoying exploring this intriguing mission.

2. This is a relatively "quiet" addon. A lot of missions take over the game as you work your way from event A to event B to event C etc. However, Vector sits in the background a lot of the time, and the only evidence that it's there would be the occasional Vector ship (Headhunters, Slave Runners, and the Vector itself). I suppose there is a beginning of sorts, though it's not at a fixed point in space or time. I won't spoil it by saying exactly what happens, suffice it to say that X marks the spot. But be patient! Vector sits in the background for quite a while before that event happens.

I'm a bit late, sorry.

The OXP is broken. Completely. The code is written for v1.76, so don't expect it to be working.

The reason why I haven't done anything is simply that I'm concentrating on tools (like Library) which are required for all my other AddOns as well. The Vector will be the last step as it uses (currently) CCL and Snoopers.

As we already identified that the OXP is broken:

The OXP manifest demands a minimum Oolite version (https://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Manif ... te_version) but does not specify any maximum (https://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Manif ... te_version). With that users are still lured into installing it although it cannot be expected to run.

Wouldn't it be reasonable to either take it off the expansion catalog, or at least mark it's compatibility with only Oolite 1.76?

I agree. It is also compatible with 1.77.1 (but works better with 1.76)

I agree. It is also compatible with 1.77.1 (but better with 1.76)
So do we have someone who can update the manifest.plist inside that OXP by adding the maximum oolite version? If not, I'll simply remove it from the catalog.
