True, it's a bit of a monumental journey, but then you wouldn't expect an Elite pilot to propose a quick run to Diso and back

I see it as being a cross between 'Days of Thunder' and 'The Cannon-ball Run'. Sure, it's a long time going, but the reward is well worth it in the end!

Yesterday I have updated the "shipdata.plist"-document. I have

- added the <key>hasShipyard</key>-method and

- updated the entry on <key>laser_color</key>, which wasn't quite correct. (E.g. the sentence "NPCs that is, not the player's laser." in the old entry was straightforwardly wrong.)

I listed all color names that really are available in Oolite AFAIK (and I tested all names from the list on the linked X11-page) and also the existing ships that use these colors. It seems that only a few basic colors really can be used in Oolite. If you use any other color the laser will just be red (which is the default).

I also changed the example, because interestingly the example used so far (pinkColor) is actually not one of the available colors.

I would've liked to put my short list into a better readable form like a table, but didn't manage to do so. How can you do something like that in the wiki?

Looks nice.

One word of advice - learn the difference between IT'S and ITS. Quickly.

IT'S = It is (it's like a Viper)

ITS = denotion of ownership (its weapon is long)

You mean its not got "its" in it's dictionary? That's one of my too major pet peeves in the way people write. Can you guess the other two which I refer? That one bothers me to!

Also, go easy on the caps, dude! What are you, German? :)

Edit: referring more to your Dicky Bow Run text than the Nemesis entry!

You might like a newsgroup I used to frequent, alt.possessive.its.has.no.apostrophe.

I don't get you, the only caps are in the title for a total of 11, the rest are describing definitive objects, such as the Commander Williams Enduro Cup. Are you suggesting it should be the commander williams enduro cup?

Just do it the way you want to, I think your writing skills are brilliant, WGAF about grammar and spelling etc, if it bothers people surely they can edit the Wiki themselves.

@TGHC - although, sadly, most people today don't seem to give a f*** about grammar and spelling, if you get it right you'll be giving people a much easier, more satisfying read.

@Cap'n H - you don't use caps to describe "definitive objects", whatever they are! You use them, primarily, to begin sentences and to differentiate proper nouns (the OED definition of a proper noun: "a name for an individual person, place or organisation") from other words. (Also, sometimes for emphasis, and in headings and work titles.)

So, yes, you would cap Commander Williams Enduro Cup, but you wouldn't cap "galaxy" (unless "Galaxy 1"), "south-east", "leg", "bounty hunters", "military laser", "witchpoint beacon", etc.

Class dismissed.
