Cheers... always good to hear. If you want to try a dumb pilot's fix... make a back-up of your save-file and store it somewhere safe first, then go dock and save at Lazaso, then overwrite the Coyote's Run mission section in the save-file with this:

Code: Select all

<key>Coyote-Main</key>
<string>COYOTE's RUN: Travel to Zaenza system to collect Intel.</string>
	<key>mission_CoyoteFerdie_status</key>
	<string>FLEE</string>
	<key>mission_CoyotePhythonPilot</key>
	<string>RESCUED</string>
	<key>mission_Coyote_status</key>
	<string>STAGE_110</string>
It may work... if it does, it'll put you back at the first Lazaso stage (I think... nothing is certain) of the mission.

Oh... if it does work, don't dock at Cecear... heh. If not, revert to the back-up save-file and wait for Okti.

<nods in thanks to the Mods for moving this>

Once Again Thank You El Viejo it can't hurt to try, I wanted to save my kills so the mission, if it will restart, will be easier the second time thur ...... and yes   don't dock at Cecear! If it doesn't then Okti maybe able to help :!:  we'll see what happens!!

Yeah... it's possibly a dirty fix though! It's from the save-file of a commander I have permanently stationed at Lazaso, as I like to re-visit Lago/Avernus every so often. I love the multiple asteroid swarms, and the restaurant is fantastic!

Oh... this may possibly be my fault for not mentioning it, but did you use Windows Notepad to edit the save-file?

Hmm... have you tried a search for that save-file? (Oh, don't edit in Notepad, btw.)

If it was saved by Windows Notepad (as opposed to Notepad++, which is recommended), then it will now be named thus: commander name.oolite-save.txt (I think). If you can find that, simply rename it by removing the .txt part.... I think that should work.

Yeah, I bet you did... as would I! As I'm only a dumb pilot... you'd have to experiment a little, maybe? Provided you have a copy of the save-file stored somewhere safe, you can't really lose <he said hopefully, wishing a boffin would automagically appear>. Windows Wordpad is quite safe to use, btw.

Hey Man Thanks Again for taking time out to communicate with me, I'm going to try to fly back and experiment abit like you said as long as you've got the save in a safe place can't get hurt too much so you need to replace all of the coyote instants in the file right, with the save info you gave me even though I remember that the beginnings were at a place called Laquused do you think that if I removed everything that said coyote on it that and was at the starting point it may work also? reading about it in the posts said that at the end you were givin a vacation option and when you proceded to laquused that the mission started over

This is highly probable... but again, I'm a dumb pilot, so the usual caveat applies. Go try... but keep that back-up save-file safe!
