1) programming isnt easy anymore! last thing i wrote was in turbo pascal4 for the IBM xt...lol
Naaaah... Programming is easier now but what we try to do is more complex as well. Yesterday a couple guys could do a 3D wireframe game in a few months, today a couple of guys can do a 3D game with animated textures and multi-source lighting and reflections.

Well, just wait for the next decade. People have started to realize that dealing directly with threads is like managing memory manually, and that OOP isn't a silver bullet.
BTW, I heard good things about FreePascal and Lazarus if you want to come back to the gig.

It is a pity it had to end like this. But it had also been painfully obvious for quite some time now that this would have been the most likely outcome...

The data visualizer/editor is so stunningly beautiful, I almost cried when I saw it.

This was when I first got worried...

Josh was still beavering away (with plenty a dev vid to follow) but I think he was beginning to get distracted from gameplay and excited by anything that wasn't directly gameplay related.
The node based menus for example, they look great but lose clarity with increasing depth. Style was rapidly gaining ground over substance, or at least that's how it appeared to me.

His stamina just to get to that point (and beyond) was admirable and I remained hopeful for quite some time but I think it's come to a stage where this is the right thing for him to do.
I think he's been a bit more honest with himself than before and that will serve him well once he has fully recovered.

I hope no one pledged beyond their means...

A sad thing to see Cody but I've a feeling that this isn't the end of Limit Theory.

Good to see you too and you should know, I am never too far away Cody. Just been a bit quiet of late as this "new golden age" of space sims took some.....strange turns. :?
Sometimes you just have to get back to the source. Glad to see this place is just the same as ever tho! :)

This could be interesting...
Hey LT fans!

Does anyone have a good contact method for Josh? I'm the lead developer at a small, brand new (we're starting this month), financially well-backed indie game studio, Arcane Ermine, and we're looking to get in touch with Josh about hiring him and helping him finish Limit Theory. We believe it would be a tragedy if all of his incredible work just disappeared, and we're looking to help him get it all tied together.
Arcane Ermine - 'tis currently only a placehoilder.

The Limit Theory forum has closed its doors to new members. I think a few diehards hang out on Discord.
Still no sign of Josh or the promised source code, of course - ho-hum!

The Limit Theory forum disappeared last week - the final act is done, it seems.

Links to information on Limit Theory Redux can be found at SSC here.

I'm wondering why he tried to do it all by himself.
