No problem. Did have to dig into the Debian repository to find out what I needed to install to get the wxpython libraries onto the RPi. Appart from that it was rather straight forward. OoliteInfo does run kind of slow, so there may be some room for optimisation. But then again, so does the debug console. Might as well be my RPi setup or just too little power in the Pi.

That would indicate that they have them in stock and are deliverable now.

I've still got 3 weeks to wait for mine that I ordered 2 months ago.

Finally got another chance to set up the Pi and see if I can get it working last night.

And I did - it's now on the internet and everything! I have 2 SD cards - one with the latest build of Raspbian and one with the latest version of Xbian (the media centre OS).

Both are running lovely. I played with Scratch, went on the internet and tried to download Chrome for Debian (unsuccessfully) before trying out the Xbian build. On that I watched an episode of Danger Mouse and some videos I downloaded from YouTube. Everything ran beautifully and the picture was crystal clear! The latest Raspbian build seemed to clear up the screen sizing issue I was having with the earlier build (when it was still called a Debian build) and now I have full screen Pi beauty.

Now I need to work out what to do with it!! And put it in a case.

Not had a lot of luck getting an external hard drive to work with it yet, but I think that might be a power thing. My USB memory cards and the card reader all come up fine through the USB hub, but the HDD doesn't show up on either OS. Need to try plugging it directly into the USB on the Pi to see, but I have a feeling that I'll need a powered hard drive rather than one that gets power from the bus.

Now the challenge is to learn how to use linux again before trying to do something clever with it. Scratch looks like fun (as I'm sure Drew can confirm).

Yeah. Using midori. Not much else to say, really. Maybe I'll build an R2 unit...

Any news on this? I would love this game to be on the Pi, I think for it to be really successful the platform needs a good, meaty, game like Oolite to get the kids interested.

There is now an 'official' RiscOS distro. I did post a message about oolite for all those looking to get ArcElite working (it doesn't as it's 26 bit so will only run under emulation), and some have visited as I got a thank you from them.

A Raspberry Pi can open a garage door, it seems.
