Now if only I could figure out how get my name changed in-game from Jameson that would be great. XD

Thanks Cody, that worked for me!
I found Oolite on Linux so I can play Elite on my Ubuntu OS I have on my computer. So far I'm loving it. I myself didn't play the original Elite. (I was born too late for that) but thanks to having Oolite, I can enjoy that experience.
And yes I do role play as my Space Bounty-Huntress Squirrel character on Oolite; Sabrina Airsquirrel. Hence the name on the Forums.

If you installed it from the package manager of OS then worth to get the latest stable from
oolite.org.

Oolite wiki.

Hi all. I got into Elite back in the on the Amiga and I loved it. Ever since that day I have been a mac user (boo in know) and I was looking for a version that didn't involve an emulator or some other crap like that.
Ok so now I've been using oolite for over a week now and I love it! However, there are some things that don't work but I won't mention them here.
So just saying that I love the game and I'll be playing for some time.

Hello everyone!
I once played Frontier on an Amiga and liked the game very much with its open space feeling and, hehe, the music (I still can't listen to certain Mussorgsky, Grieg and Strauss tunes without getting instantly pictures of space stations and laser fiering ships in my mind
). Unfortunately on one of my moves I lost the games box with its big space map poster.
Just out of curiosity, some weeks ago, I looked what happend to the game and if there is a way to maybe play it again on my PC. So I landed here and was overwhelmed by the work that was done by all the contributors of this project. There is so much to give immersive detail and depht to the game, even on a not really dedicated gaming PC. Great!
What I also noticed by reading through some of the forum's posts, oxp readmes and code comments is the kind respect everyone gives to each other. That's something nice to see too, makes a good feeling about the project and its community.
While getting lost in all the interesting content via the ingame extentions manager (really nice tool!) and the wiki, trying this and that to find my perfect setup, I already had a couple of days fun playing it.
I also collected a small list with logged warnings and errors on the way, that I need to sort out now to see where I made a mistake on my run through the buffet
and where I need to report what. I just discovered the Developer release for that, even though I'm not a programmer or anything related, but it seems to give some more informations.
Keep up the good work on this game.

Ha, exactly this was it (just my wasn't that clean after all the pins and notes I put on it, hehe).
So you were obviously more careful with your youth artefacts.

Welcome Xanthin!
Feel free to post any logs, either into the topics of the related OXPs (what you can find near the bottom of most wiki pages or using the search link at the top of the forum) or simply in one into a new topic where at least the active members will see it and mention if you should post some parts into specific topics. A less active author who made the first post of an OXP usually get an email about a new post in his topic.

I don't know about 'youth', but I was certainly younger! Oh to be forty again!
