Too late.. I bought in at the public beta.. but still don't have a PC that can run it!
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
The entire machine, actually.. my laptop is almost 8 years old.. 1.7GHz dual core, with crappy graphics as a bonus. And a maximum of 3GB of RAM. Woefully inadequate for modern games. I need to build a complete new gaming-oriented system.. not easy when you're out of work.

My guess is operating system...
Ha ha ha..
That's not really a problem.. I may not like Windows, but I do use it when necessary.. This laptop has Win XP, Win 7, and 3 flavours of Linux installed on it.

I've been there, and without my brother's financial assistance, I'd not have an ED-capable machine myself.
Wish I could help, but even if I had a few spare components, the shipping costs to Oz would be horrendous!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

They would indeed.. and thanks anyway.. I'll take the thought for the deed.

My apologies for bringing an old topic back to life but I recently had a look at the Alpha version and recognized that a lot of my ideas actually were already included there. I am not sure who of the original team is still around but I intend to use parts of this OXZ including the carrier and the stations in my WIP if there are no complains. The NVS ships published at this topic: Material for potential "NVSecurity OXP" I recycled already at the System Guard Navy
Scars remind us where we've been. They don't have to dictate where we're going.
I don't really play Oolite anymore so I have no objections but my contribution to this wasn't very large so you'd perhaps be better speaking to the others if they are still around. Thanks

Thank you, I will wait for a while longer but personally I consider HIMSN as an great idea with a lot of time and work invested. It would be a shame if Oolite never would benefit from it. The ships published as NVS I recycled as System Guard Navy Ships of Feudal world already so that at least some Imperial Majesty is left. The original logo (and the variants) are the new logo of all System Guards.

Hmm... shouldn't Captain Fortesque (of Her Imperial Majesty’s Space Navy) also get a mention?
Then there's Agent Blake (of Naval Intelligence) - what of him (or is it her)?
