James, believe me I get your point. That said as I'm being trusted with other peoples money; I would like to do everything in my power to avoid a visitation from the Christmas **** up fairy.

I know inflection is difficulty to express on the internet but I'm of the mind that if he's updated his listing recently, chances are he would have looked through and pruned it accordingly.

I sent an e-mail; as far as I can see (agreeing with you) it's out of mine and anyone else's hands. Can't make someone reply, or can't get past a vicious spam filter.

Hey, we do what we can, hence the reason I asked the wider community just to check to make sure everyone was happy with what had been done so far. Looks like the consensus is;

1) Try to contact the man, but don't get all stalker about it.
2) Trust that Mr Bell has his own house in order. Buy the gear, send it, job done.

I'm cool with that, as long as everyone else is. No need to over complicate this. :)

Plan B: buy the cheapest item on the list (The Complete Book of Origami), and have it sent to him now, with a very brief message (presuming that is possible with an Amazon wish list… it should be), explaining who you are, and inviting him to update his wish list (if it hasn't been updated already), so that more goodies can follow for Xmas.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Plan C: we don't really want to pester the guy, we send what gifts we can afford, chosen randomly, with a thank you note saying something like 'Tank you for being a cool guy' or summik.
And if he gets a duplicate, I'm sure he can give the duplicate to someone else! :)

I thought it was supposed to be a gift, not a questionnaire on how often he updates the amazon wish list! :D

Same from me ... it's the thought that counts! If a man owns one plasma globe, he'll easily find space in his heart and his home for two. Two plasma globes is surely one better than one plasma globe, anyway. :D

You're making me curious: How many plasma globes do you want for christmas? :wink:

And, do I sense a certain underlying willingness to exchange a certain jar for a—plasma globe? 8)

Hm, the picture lets run my imagination even wilder. Comparing it against more avatars I think Kaks may want one, too! :D

I'm not sure what the orange thing filling your avatar's spacesuit actually is and whether you could throw it out, but methinks the left globe would fit in almost perfectly. :D

Clearly, that's the helmet's gold plate, I'd feel naked without it! :lol:

Do plasma beings have eyes?
