Teanrebi, First stop from Tianve to Lave. In the official readings not much was known of this planet. It's however a closely guarded secret by nature lovers. Travelers often pass this planet by because they are in a rush. Therefore they are missing the friendly Bug eyed frogs, the beautiful tropical beaches and the lush forests. Some old settlements where found here of an unknown alien origin.

2 planets needed for completing the route Lave- Tianve
Anerbe: Known for it's great volcano's
Velete: A revolting dump
Other planets are also welcome but I'm searching for planets enroute to much these descriptions.
Then we can have a little party because the whole route Lave>Tianve is done then

Stand by for Anerbe... and Lunarcell in PhotoShop / GIMP gives both a composit (mural) layer with everything on it, and individual layers for cloud, oceans, bump-mapping, cities... but a 4096 x 2048 pixels each? Woof!!
OK: back to the idea of a volcanic planet. Why would colonists be on something so unstable? Because it is THE best place to grow stuff. Volcanic ash makes a very mineral rich soil and grows good crops without the addition of much fertilizer. Adding organic matter to the soil as organic mulch or animal manure adds needed nitrogen as well as improve the soil. Volcanic ash is better than wood ash, mulch or manure... they all contain minerals, but the volcanic ash contains a much wider variety of minerals. That's why Anerbe is an agricultural world... but the number of disasters that occasionally wipe out whole harvests keeps the place from being a richer agricultural planet.

Anerbe has been undergoing a period of volcanic activity for some time...
...and when this shot was taken, the sunlight was refracted off all the smoke in the atmosphere (giving it a red hue).

Velete is a bit of a revolting dump, huh?
Well, what with all the swamps on the planet and the algae in the seas that give off methane, I can see why people would say that. The place smells like rotten eggs all the time!
Full resolution map of Velete. get it while you can! FileFactory hosts files indefinitely... however if a file has not been downloaded after 90 days, it will automatically be removed. So get it within the next three months, PAGroove!

Thanks to Pangloss the Lave -> Tianve route is now flyable with only custom planets.. He did the 2 remaining planets en route. I now bring 2 planets in from Stromboli and then we have a strong package.
Now this week I must complete all planet texts. If you created a planet and have a good story for the F7 screen also post it. @ Pangloss> I did see your story about Esveor. I will include it. EDIT I also see your story on Velete, Excellent.
I already done Velete But I include your planet. I did it also with Lunarcell. BTW do you have the trail version or a full one?

I only have the trial version... But I have the full version of Photoshop 7 so I can use all the cloud layers and planets on other planets if I don't pay for the Plug-In.

Pangloss wrote:I've been thinking: which of the three pink ocean planets in Galaxy 1 should have this Hi Def treatment? The three contenders are...
# 19. Azaqu = up-map from the Old Worlds. The planet Azaqu is most famous for its pink oceans and Zero-G cricket. But a little too remote for my liking.
#148. Riraes = part of the Devil's Triangle. The world Riraes is fabled for its weird rock formations and its pink oceans. But people go there to die at the hands of pirates, so sod that.
#172. Esveor = just up-right on the chart from the Xexedi Cluster, on the way to the Rexebe-Inera Consortium (I just made that up... but come ON: two worlds with that high Tech Levels just HAVE to be part of a trading partnership for that region). Esveor is mildly famous for its pink oceans and Zero-G hockey.
This is the place. Esveor.
People from the Xexedi Cluster go to Rexebe on holiday, if they can afford it, because Rexebe is mildly famous for its hoopy night life and its exotic cuisine. And if you'll be enjoying a little too much exotic cuisine and spending a little too much time in those hoopy night clubs (kids today, playing their crush-polka music too loud with the bass and the screeching, thinking the can just barge in front of you when you're docking at the ConStore, they don't know they're born...), stop off at Esveor and stock up on some of that Peptoo Bismol at the station.
Plus: we already have a Zero-G Hockey ad on the ConStores!
Uploading planet now. Please stand by...
@ Pangloss,
Can you create some world for the Rexebe- Inera Consortium + The planetary backgrounds?

Just to let you know: I updated my Mac for OS X 10.5.6 and Photoshop 7 isn't supported by Adobe for the new OS. So I am slowly reverting to GIMP. Which may take some time. I still have to load iLife and iWork onto the computer (I got 'The Mac Box').
Does anyone know which versions of Photoshop Elements work under OS X 10.5...? I want to get the cheapest one on eBay!!!

Just downloaded 1.95 of Famous Planets... WOW! As a fan of ambient techno, I love the soundtrack. Have you considered doing a version of Blue Danube in the same vein?
