Tip: the really big stations such as the rings, need to be off your scanner before you can witchspace!
I figured that was the case but usually there's so much traffic out my back window I can't find the station on the radar!

Buttonboxes

If you can write something for the wiki, we can add it to the pages linked above. We can also add your touchportal profile (as I did for my Streamdeck profiles).

Notice how I did the missiles (on Buttonboxes). I found the plethora of missile buttons too confusing - especially since I hardly ever use them. Moving them into Streamdeck proved far, far better.

I am convinced that your Throttle problem is solvable. Have you tried Saitek's help line/e-mail help?

There's a better layout template for the X-56 available here:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ ... s/3313211/

It has both the throttle and the stick, specifically for the X-56. (The one you linked is for the X-55.)

Yeah, that's roughly how I've done it. I'll see if I can figure out how to add to the wiki and include the portal file, or at least link to it from iCloud Drive or something.

I haven't, but I may skulk around the Logitech forums a bit, and see if there are similar problems with other games. And then maybe reach out to Logitech support. It's weird that Oolite does *recognize* that the throttle is an available device, it just won't detect my attempts to bind anything to it.

There's a similar problem with modern Xbox controllers: Oolite doesn't detect the trigger buttons because technically they are axes rather than buttons, so Oolite doesn't know what to do with them and won't bind anything to them. But all the other buttons work.

The big green blobby thing. The smaller green dot is the beacon. And if you are sufficently close to the HoOpy casino, that will be green too.

You will want to "pm" Maik to get a log-on for the wiki - unless you are happy with me doing it for you. Maik seems to be hibernating at the moment. He's over in Slovenia, and hopefully is all right... Alternatively, Phkb or a_c might just have a set of spare keys to the gate...

And pm's don't work too well - best to find a post by Maik and quote it, so that he gets an e-mail about it. He won't get notification for your "pm" until he logs in here...

Oh no! I have no idea, I didn't even bother to check as I hadn't made any changes.

Looks like the same thing happened to ep. 15. I'll have to figure out what happened tonight, hopefully solve the problem for the next episode. :(

I fixed the setup problem. Turns out my computer updated the sound drivers and that made OBS disconnect the desktop audio from the setting. So episodes 14 and 15 have no game (desktop) audio. It is resolved now and starting with 16 it'll be back to your regular subpar content production.

It is incredibly awkward to listen to myself talk with no other sound, I can't imagine it's much better for anyone else...

Actually, your talking is part of what makes your sessions so well worth watching...

But, your sessions have achieved a number of positive things in their own right - getting several oxp's sorted out (Telescope is important), etc, helping me realise that many players will never bother researching the wiki in any depth, re-energising me to address my insipid combat technique, and to remind me that there are approaches to Oolite so very different from my own...

They have also helped me realise how important that orchestral demo of Svengali's actually is - and how we really should have some others to add to it. How super of Tsoj to post an alternative!

We have several musicians, some of whom are even still active (Phkb) and others of whom made a major impact before being mugged by real life (PAGroove & GSAgostinho) - I was thinking that it would be really nice to have some of their music up there with Svengali's...

I don't generally read wikis for *any* game, to be honest. I'm incredibly old school and prefer games that are self-contained in that all the info I need about them is in the game itself. Obviously I can't expect that of OXPs, but the muscle memory of *not* checking the wiki is still there.

The music really adds so much, and I agree - we need more of it! If I could figure out how that OXP works, it might not be too hard to find royalty-free music that could be added in. (I know that the Pretzel service is a thing, and it's got a lot of orchestral and piano music.)

I haven't tested out the HyperRadio equipment yet, but I imagine that does similar things...?

I've not checked it out, but this guy makes all kinds of music/sound effects/etc especially for use in games. All he asks for is attribution.

Can't answer for whether it's the kind of stuff you're talking about, but you never know. Find it at soundimage.org
