Well, that explains why you're building this out of spare odds'n'ends.. as a friend once told me, "Poverty is owning a horse"..

Hi All
Please don't get excited. Nothing is happening
RL is in the way at the moment. Cleaning, a gift, full horse harness and prepping the winter field at the new stables.
I see that with the release of 1.80 the number keys have been coded as independent of the F1 - F8 keys. This is 'most bodacious'
Looking at the key matrix now it will be even easier to 'knock up' keypad groups with simple wiring. All that is required is to create a suitable key.plist to suit or use the key config within 1.80. So I will be completing this first pad, and the stick/throttle controls, then (If it all works) look to getting some cheap USB keyboards to hack in a similar fashion. USB is much more flexible, and simpler to implement, in having more than one keyboard attached to your PC.
All the best chaps

Hi Spud
Not as yet. Just got to add the Y matrix interlink wires then attach the switch PCB to the Matrix PCB. RL is playing havoc with all the fun stuff. Not to mention I'm a digit down, it's still attached, due to my horse being a total knob when I was trying to put sun cream on his nose. Sprained the 2nd joint of my right hand 3rd finger. It bloody kills!
Ah the joys!

Not for the first time, it occurs to me, that it's probably a very good thing that most wives would have no interest in reading this forum..

Talking of EX.. My bloody Xbox pad has just gone EX!
Havin played around with trying to install ati/amd graphic drivers on my ubuntu laptop, which buggered it up with an endless startup loop followed by my delight at successfully installing Crunchbang 64bit, which wouldn't previously for some unknown reason BUT it has, all on it's tod, installed the radeon drivers as well for an improved visual smoothness..........takes a deep breath.........so I installed the 64 bit Oolite-trunk 1.81 plugged in my pad and it didn't work!!!!!!
It is an old pad so the failure is probably normal for it's age. BUT it is fixable. Where the usb lead enters the grommet at the pad end there is a definite crease where the fault is most likely to be. So I'll be cutting and splicing it back together.
