All proofreader feedback now incorporated. Some great suggestions - thanks guys. New proof being generated so I've got to read it all again. Will be glad when this is over. I hate this part of getting a story ready... actually getting bored with the story now!

Cheers,

Drew.

The funny thing is (and I don't know if other writers experience this) that there are parts of the story I *can* read over and over again and never grow weary of them, but other bits end up having to be really slogged through on the 'nth' reading...

Hopefully that's not a sign of crappy writing...

Cheers,

Drew.

My problem with final read-throughs is trying not to tinker... it's difficult.

Hi Drew, as you've probably gathered from the lack of a second lot of feedback I haven't completed the 2nd read through as yet. If you want a second pair of eyes for the new proof feel free to email it over.

Likewise, although you've had all the information from the initial proof-read

Just to chime in my 2c, I'm a third of the way through my second read - apart from the occasional typo missed on the first read through, I'm not finding any further issues worthy of comment.

... and Drew, let me echo these sentiments. To be honest, I can't find anything wrong with the story from a 'story' point of view. Your plot makes sense. There have been stories that I have begun reading where I find myself losing my sense of immersion. Finis doesn't do that to me. Instead, I can see the pictures in my mind that you are trying to create, and that just happens naturally without effort on my part.

You've done yourself proud with this novel. There's no need to tinker.

Thanks for all the offers and encouragement. :D I don't plan much tinkering, but since I've included a few extra bits and some modifications as a result of feedback I do want to read end-to-end myself before sending out a revised draft to ensure it still makes sense as a whole. Hopefully that won't take long!

I'll send out revised copies before too long!

Cheers,

Drew.

Revised 'draft 2' copies going to proofreaders today. It's taken me three days to re-read the story. Picked up a handful of typos and one bizarre sentence where I'd used 'obviously' three times. Obviously, it was obvious that that sentence obviously needed some kind of obvious rewrite, so obviously I changed it in the obvious fashion, removing 'obvious' and replacing it with something less obvious, obviously.

Cheers,

Drew.

it's like that use of "actual/actually" in Police Academy.

Or possibly abrupt and abruptly in this case...

Anyway 2nd proof read feedback should now be in your in-box, although again my email seems to be playing silly <beep>s. It seems to have something against proofread feedback!
