These guys want to 'participate' also:

Let me rephrase that! :lol:
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Lol, great clip. Yeah, better qualify that statement... I express interest the Guild of Honourable Pilots and do humbly seek inclusion. What are the requirements and maybe if there aren't that many or too onerous in their scope mayhap I might suffice? Mayhap not - I still fly more like an ape than a fly! :roll:

At least you're not fighting Sador of the Malmori and his stellar convertor(oxp forthcoming, haha!). He's never lost a fight, he never quits, if you're fighting Sador you've got a snowballs chance in hell! :lol:

Hi all

This is just to say that my Interstellar Tweaks seems almost ready for proper release, and/but could use any last bits of testing that any intrepid Guild member wants to do. Some details (reproduced from an earlier post):
Dear Honourable Guild Members

Fancy testing my 'Interstellar Tweaks' OXP?

Should you accept this mission, then, each time you misjump (and the chance of misjumping is slightly increased), it is possible that you will encounter:

- derelict ships in interstellar space;
- an interstellar asteroid field;
- various thargoid traps;
- a quasi-misjump that puts you in normal space, but not where you expected to be;
- only the thargoids in interstellar space, any navy (that was courtesy of other OXPs) having legged it, been destroyed, or just not being there;
- some navy being there;
- various things similar to the above;
or even
- the bugs pulling off something rather special (the 'bugs' being, hopefully, the thargoids, rather than my programming errors).
See also the README within the OXP.

The OXP is here: http://www.box.com/shared/moreq536ht

Cheers.

I would like to join the Honorable Guild of Test Pilots please

Solonar of Esceso
Elite Combateer

I have completed all of the native missions.

I am sort of shaders compatible. I can run shaders on this machine but Oolite will crash to desktop after a few minutes of time. I am unable to resolve this issue at this time so cannot reliably test shaders.

Oolite 1.76.0.4679, the current alpha stable release

Del Inspiron 620
Windows 7 Service Pack 1
Intel Core i3-2100 CPU@ 3.10 Ghz
4.00 GB installed ram
64 bit operating system

Graphics

Dear Solonar

I am not quite sure of eligibility criteria for the Guild (I am a bit behind), although I suspect that willingness is the only criterion! Certainly I'd be pleased were you to test my OXP. (See above.)

You (and others) should be informed that some of the stuff my OXP does will be encoutered only very rarely - which I admit makes the OXP difficult to test fully, unless you mess around with the code. Still: most of the things the OXP does - especially if you have other OXPs installed (see the Readme file) - will occur if you install the OXP and prompt quite a few misjumps (by - if you don't know how to do this - initiating a witchspace jump and then climbing as sharply as possible for the last few seconds before he jump). That said, if you do that enough times, this OXP will kill you - but it will give you prior warning!

Hey Solonar. Being a test pilot can be good fun and very rewarding. The best test pilots try to make the oxp go wrong in some way. So that it has been tested in normal game play and under unusual circumstances.

Always read the read-me thoroughly and take note of oxp objectives and keep an eye out for them. If there are any discrepancies even small ones take a note of them and post them on the relevant thread relating to the oxp you are testing.

And above all - Have Fun :D

Best of luck commander Solonar!

Beware the myriad of hazards that may await you, including thargoids in various configurations, interstellar space sickness, various drive malfunctions, deep-space asteroids, and, perhaps, 'wasps' and even witchspace-lobster worshippers. Still, sometimes you will encounter only the navy, or derelicts, or, indeed, nothing at all.

I do recommend that you install the following OXPs if you don't have them already:

- GalNavy;
- Military Fiasco;
- Extra Thargoids;
and (for eye-candy)
- Enhanced Misjumps.

Consider also

- Generation Ships;
- Ferdelance 3G;
- Fuel collector (although this one needs a patch to work fully with my OXP - so perhaps I should suppy one!).

I've got a new piece of (mainly) combat equipment available for testing.

Any guild members on duty and up for the job? PM me for a download link.

Sorry to go on, but the everything-seems-to-work last pre-proper-release version of my Interstellar Tweaks is available here: http://www.box.com/shared/moreq536ht. As I say on the 'Test Pilots' thread, I'm keen for people with systems different to mine to test it. That means: anything save Windows XP SP3 (which is what I've got).

If all goes well I'll put the thing on the 'released' part of the wiki in a few days.

Cheers! :D
