Still working towards G5, but still in G3. First goal: TCAT. Then Nova (g4) then Coyote's Run and then..finally Xeptatl's Sword. :D A lot of work to do.

Just about ready to start Xeptatl's Sword. I'm in G3 right now, and planning to use my GalDrivePods to get to G5. Of course, my funds are starting to dwindle, but that shouldn't be a problem, I still have 38k in the bank.
I can't wait for the download to finish. :D

Hello. Complete newbi to this forum.....but not Oolite!

Sorry to say I've got a problem with Xeptatl's sword. Every time I approach the station by the sun in Galaxy 1 my computer freezes. Any ideas?

I should know where you mean, but just to be clear, which system? Are you at Leesti?
TBH I've got no idea why your computer is freezing, but knowing where precisely you are in the mission might help.

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

I'm in Xeququiti, so it's the station on the asteroid that orbits the sun.

Could it be another OXP breaking Xeptatl's sword? The read me mentions Killit, which I don't have, but I have to admit to being an uber ship (Vortex) piloting add on junky! If there was an OXP entitled "kitchen sink" I'd have it.

Hi PJW,
OK, thanks for that. Sadly it doesn't actually help a lot. The station you are approaching is really just the same as a rock hermit and there is no obvious reason for your freeze.
It may well be an un-expected interaction with another OXP, but they can be hard to pin down as well.
Some more info would be helpful, so could you give some details of your computer - O/S, memory, graphics chip/card etc, and also post the latest log after a freeze. Post the whole log if you can, here on this thread even if it's quite long will be OK. Use the 'quote' tags above the input box. Your log should be in the same folder as your AddOns folder.
I hope this will help us to work out what's happening.

@ PJW: You have some OXPs in the wrong places.
  • Kestrel&Falcon.oxp is inside AsteroidStorm 4.0.oxp. It doesn't belong there.
  • Fuel Tank v2.2.oxp is inside BlackMonks.oxp.
  • kirin.oxp is inside cobraClipper 1.1.1.oxp.
  • Furball-1.0a1.oxp is inside dragon.oxp.
  • Generation Ships.oxp is inside Fuel Station 1.33.oxp.
  • Naval Torpedo.oxp is inside another copy of Naval Torpedo.oxp.
Some of those are also installed correctly, therefore they effectively exist twice, which may lead to unwanted behaviour. Please make sure when installing OXPs that you put them inside AddOns, not inside anything that lives inside AddOns itself.

However, there is no clue to me what causes your freeze. You can disregard the error about the debug console. It just says that you have none installed.
