Lol. I just got my email. The web app seems quite easy to use. Plus you can upgrade your pledge later if you decide to add more rewards.

Got my e-mail a couple of hours ago. Commander & NPC names still pending for approval. Wonder how long that will take...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous
It's not really clear what those are. However I think that the Commander name is what you'd play under, and the NPC name is for adding to the database for generating NPC names.Zieman wrote:Commander & NPC names still pending for approval.
So, I have set my commander name to JazHaz, and the NPC name to my real name which is James Haslam.

I have chosen my names, but I'm still waiting for confirmation that I really get to use the Commander name I want. Still cogs beside both names, waiting for the thumbs up.

I should think it'll take a few days, with thousands of names to confirm.Zieman wrote:I have chosen my names, but I'm still waiting for confirmation that I really get to use the Commander name I want. Still cogs beside both names, waiting for the thumbs up.

If I see many more bloody polls on their site, I'll scream! Like a bunch of kids, they are!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous
If you dive in to the murky past of this board there were quite a few polls here as well. I do agree though, and what makes matters worse is that there are too many polls with very similar or related questions, and too many are of the "hypothetical what if" kind.El Viejo wrote:If I see many more bloody polls on their site, I'll scream! Ponders starting a poll to find out if polls are needed or wanted.

Aye... and a lot of fluffing, upping their post-counts but saying nothing new.
I think there is already one of those, Tricky.

At least the silly, "My machine is more uber than yours!" posts seem to have dried up. Seriously, if you have a machine that can outperform nearly any supercomputer a university would kill for, why would you use it just for gaming? Oh wait, I forgot there are forums to post about it.

They're going out in batches to save server load... it could be Sat/Sun, apparently. I'm also still waiting patiently.DaddyHoggy wrote:I've not received any emails, but I'm patient, I can wait...

I think you're right, and that's the approach I took. I had to ponder it for a while.JazHaz wrote:It's not really clear what those are. However I think that the Commander name is what you'd play under, and the NPC name is for adding to the database for generating NPC names.

It only took a few seconds to approve the two names I'd submitted. Are you sure you clicked the button alongside the name fields? Mind you, the site was pretty slow up to that point, could it have just timed out?Zieman wrote:That much is clear.
