Let's have 5 examples of sci-fi "terrorist-like" attacks, regardless if they succeeded or not, i.e. defused, or abandoned.
You know the drill, one per "universe"/author, books, games, movies, series, or other media.
One of the current Star Trek Reboot series starts off with a "terrorist" attack in London. Wiki tells me it was Star Trek Into Darkness, where "Commander John Harrison, bombs a Section 31 installation in London.".

So that should be at least one Roddenbury universe off the table.

OK - the DC universe, Ra's al Ghul's attack on Gotham City in Batman Begins (2005). Lots of others in the DC universe.

While I know that race is over, wasn't there some move from one of the two robots to make earth radioactive and inhabitable?
They had invented another rule that says they need to serve mankind and therefore can even sacrifice some individuals.
So as a purpose it was to make mankind flee to the stars and actually spread the species over the universe.
I think one of the robots was Daneel, the other Gerald?

To one who would not understand the broad picture this must look like a terrorist attack...

While it's true that The Robots Of Dawn by Isaac Asimov would've fit the bill (and also provided you with an MBP for the only non-movie entry in the list above), it is also true that your suggestion came too late.

Also, Giskard != Gerald

P.S. why the double post?

yes,well, a question is it? .... mmmm

ok a quick round is a good round. name 5 planets inhabited by an inteligent species that was intentionally blown up. by that i mean completely destroyed/made uninhabitable by any living thing for at least a couple of hundred years. being destroyed as a byproduct of a war on the planet doesnt count so if the russians and the US has their atomic war and killed the planet well not counted..

off the top of my head i can think of 2. but im not going to rule either out... usual rules 1 answer per post, 1 answer from each universe/author.

plenty of MBP available for books i havent read, movies i havent watched and as the whim takes me...

Obvious one suggested by the last round - the Thermian homeworld in Galaxy Quest, destroyed by the evil overlord Sarris

Earth, by the Vogons, to make way for a hyperspace bypass in THHGTTG. If humans don't count as an intelligent species, the planet was also occupied by dolphins and mice …

The first film in the current alternate Star Trek timeline saw the planet Vulcan get blown away by a vengeful Romulan from the original timeline.

Isn't that pretty much the origin stories of the Daleks on (checks, not Skyros) Skaro. A thousand years of total war is mentioned, producing "a wasteland devastated by chemical and nuclear weapons".
Of course, it's a DrWhooniverse, so there are multiple versions/ timelines/ MacGuffins involved.

Yes, that was the story. Nice read. :-)

The double post... I noticed sometimes when I edit my post I hit the quote button. So it may have been me in person.
Too bad now I cannot delete it any more.
