there might be a problem with the sig, it only allows 255 chars, so if I put too much stuff in, it won't let me,

not sure if this would work

I can add more people if I add their gmail email,

I think this would solve some of our problems, if you PM your gmail email address, I can add you so that you can upload

Excellent work.

Anyone on Windows machines can use TortoiseSVN to easily manage their repository.

Advice for managing SVN from Mac and Linux systems is welcome.

I have added you pmw57, let me know if you run into issues, you shouldn't we have a 100meg upload limit, more then enough

I installed the latest OSE onto my desktop last night (the machine I have officially dedicated as my oolite "test" machine, while my main install is on my laptop) and I just wanted to say that I think you guys have done an amazing job putting this all together. Naturally I won't have this for my main install of Oolite for the time being, but it is a possible for the future when I feel I've explored the envelope of what my current main install has to offer.

My only vague bug related observation (and I will keep tinkering to see if I spot any more) is that some of the ships textures seem to randomly not load. I have no idea why this is and even I removed and re-installed the drivers for my ATI card (which otherwise works fine with oolite) to see if that was the problem.

It manifests in a few forms.

1. Textures don't load properly, but instead only appear as black white textures on the ship.
2. Some of the textures don't appear, so a ship will be partly textured, partly black.
3. No textures appear, ship is entirely black.
4. Some sort of weird black texture with white text appears instead.

I'd be surprised if this is a RAM issue (my desktop has 6gb of DDR3) and the GFX is no slouch (4870 with latest drivers), so I was mystified as to why it was happening. Especially as it would happen to different ships (most often different versions of the Black Monk gunship) on different loads.

In such cases sites like tinyURL and it's clones are your friend. Although the security question of not knowing exactly where you'll end up from the link are another matter...

no need, I just linked to the downloads on http://code.google.com/p/ooliteshipyardsextension/

so I don't have to link every download

PS your SVN password you can get if you click on your name, then click on settings, and use your username not email address, after that things should work nicely, one more thing source will tell you the URL to get downloads from,

hope that is everything

I've had those problems with older ATI drivers, especially on my 4870x2 which later was returned and exchanged for a GTX295 (overall solved many problems, the drivers from ATI simply were bad those days). However, the newer drivers, recently released for old cards, too, appear to solve the OpenGL issues. Are you sure that you are running the latest ATI drivers?

If there were a RAM problem you most probably would experience a crash that writes something like "Virtual memory exhausted" to stderr.

A workaround might be to disable shaders - but you would then miss very great visual things.

Thanks Matthew.

Keeping the limited space in mind, the SVN repository now contains the code files from the 0.70 release, which are AIs, Config, and Scripts (the other folders exist locally, but I've told my SVN to ignore them.

That 0.70 release has been coped to a 0.71 development folder
I have also separately committed the scripts updates from today.

I invite others (Screet, Lestradae) to perform a Checkout of the repository, so that ease of development may commence from here.
http://code.google.com/p/ooliteshipyard ... e/checkout

Please remember to update your local repository before beginning work on something. While it is possible to merge files together if changes occur in the same spot, you don't want to do have to do it manually if you could have avoided the effort by starting from the updated one.

Yes. Catalyst 9.9 on my machine. Textures for the vast majority of ships, all space stations and other objects are all displaying correctly. It just appears to be some ships and it is a specific group of them. I'll have another look tonight, if I get chance, and provide a list. Otherwise will be in the next few days.

I have already seen very great visual things. Some of them were heavily harmed and fired a great many missiles at me. I ran away.

I'll try disabling shaders, see if that fixes the problem for those ships.

once Screet and Lestradae PM me their gm email address I will add them,

this should make the project a lot easier to manage and mantain, plus allows people to checkout the latest versions and those that have commit access, to update the script, if anyone else is interested in helping with the project say so, if the rest agree, then the person needs a gmail account and PM me it so I can give them commit accerss

At the startup screen for the game, where you can arrow through the different models in the game, are you able to reliably find any that don't look right?

In looking through the models now, I see for example, the Mamba and the Mamba escort looks all white.

Hi matthewfarmery,

you got PM

Btw: Please, do not put anything else but the AI and Config folders into the SVN regime (at least yet)!!!

You do not have my most recent updates to any of the other folders, and I'm not sure it even makes sense to open the other folders up like this to group work (as of yet, I might say. That might change if a reason to do otherwise arises!)

OK so?

Cheers

L
