Discovered this HUD anew and while it needs a few tweaks to make it work with Detectors OXP and the MFDs from 1.79, the use of png backdrops to provide scales and cutoff lines on the dials is simply ingenious.

I wish I could draw so that I could make something similar...

A while ago, I read on the CombatMFD wiki page that currently (July 2023) only Vimana HUD uses the additional displays and values that CombatMFD provides for custom dials in HUDs. I thought that's a real shame, because with the help of CombatMFD and the new keys for custom dials in the hud.plist, completely new possibilities open up, even without any knowledge of JavaScript, allowing you to create a custom HUD and then adapt it to your own needs and personal preferences.T

To showcase at least a few of the new features available since Oolite version 1.81, I created a new HUD and can now present to our community: - - - tadaaa! - - - The Crab-Boolean CB-HUD Mark III. :D

If you want to try out the new HUD, you can download it from the following link: https://app.box.com/s/dbgw6qhq4tgfym8p2nope4y9vanw1joe

Feedback is always welcome if something doesn't work or where something could or should be improved or done differently.

As of today, the CB-HUD Mark III is designed as a pure hud.plist HUD and thus uses neither any JavaScript nor external images. (I only renamed the hud.plist and included the small script provided by Norby to make the HUD compatible with HUDSelector.oxz.)

I hope the new possibilities may encourage some players to do a first step into the "dark side" of the game. Customizing the HUD to your own ideas and preferences is a good way to start, I can say that from my own experience.

Have fun! :D

Best regards

C. B.

Fantastic work C.B.

Almost self-documenting. That deserves a wiki page (DIY HUD), surely?

Looks super!

It is good to see you back producing OXPs again. I just hope you enjoy the production process as much as I enjoy the fruits of your labours!
