Indeed, if it's true. Would like to think it is though...

Except the Romans never had "war chariots" ...

Snopes gives it a thumbs-down – but the idea that past standards and technologies shape modern (and future) ones still holds generally true.

DH, this shows the psychology at work in the mind of man. If something's available to use that would save a lot of work, it will be used. Even if it doesn't quite meet current or future needs. Even if there are flaws. It's a lot of work to reinvent the wheel. So use the old one. :?

You've given me profound insight into the concept of building the right foundation for others works to build upon. Makes me want to take longer and do a better job and hope the things I've already done are up to the task or 5 years from now some guy will have some cool oxp with 1 flaw and that is because he built it on my work. I cringe at the thought! :x
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Think of it as "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants"

If one doesn't have a proper foundation for the house there will be a 'Giant Mess' to stand on later.
