Moved the brigde. It looks now a lot less SD (Star Destroyer) and more unique. I like it actually more now.

I like the ship, especially with the bridge moved. I gotta say though, I don't care for the dock. :( If I could make a suggestion - Cut out an area on the underside hull and use a docking sphere. Yes, it's robbing the idea from an SD, but I think it would look better. Just my 2CR, take it with a GalCOP standard Ton of Salt. :p

Thanx to excellent help from Thargoid I've now got The Orisis ingame. Thargoid learned me how to make a proper plist.
Now I have to do the exhausts :)

First successful test flight Orisis Class at Esusti

Eyewitnesses watched with amazement today at the 2 Orisis Class frigates that where on a factory test tour in the region. The new Orisis Class Ferry is capable of ferrying 7000 passengers between planets in Economy setup and up to 4000 in luxury class. Oo-Go already bought 2000 ships of the GASEC yards and has an option for 2000 more.

Hyper turbulence
During test flights it has occurred that some photographers who came to close where sucked in the witchspace cloud of the Orisis which is enormous. This is a new phenomena only currently known on other large ships such as the Aquatics Hammerhead. Due to this the Orisis first has to fly out of the Safety Zone before jumping.

OXP structure and Scripting Thargoid

Bigships
Included with this OXP is the excellent Bigships.oxp from Thargoid and Eric Walch. Before using this ship install the Bigships.oxp

Installation

Extract the Orisisv1.oxp into your Addons directory of Oolite. Just to be sure startup Oolite with the SHIFT-key pressed until you see the spinning CobraMKIII.

Smaller Texture for old computers
I have included also a 'light' version of the Orisis texture you can find it in Orisisv1.oxp/textures/lightversion
Copy the texture out of this directory and paste it in Orisisv1.oxp/textures and press yes on overwrite if you want to use it.

About The Orisis Ferry

The Orisis Ferry is a large Megaship by GASECspaceliners.It is based on the basic Orisis Hull (coming later) it is a large passenger carrier intended for longer distances and also for systems outside the spaceways. Currently it is operated by Oo-Go. This organisation provides different trips and cruises along the 8 galaxies. The Orisis Carrier does not dock.
It loads from within the Safety zone. (This process is not animated in this version. Maybe this will come in future versions.)

Safety
The carrier is very sturdy but can be destroyed. In the case of an emergency about 20 escape capsules are deployed. Passengers can buy escape insurance with the trip. The Orisis provides the cheapest way of mass transport for non-space farers. Planets and Organizations can also hire the craft the Orisis for transferring large groups. Thanks for including the light texture. With the original ones I had the same as with the Hammerhead: just a black bole with two exhaust plumes. Those graphics seem to reach the limits of some older computers.

And maybe the ship is a bit strong. With for- and aft- lasers combined I couldn't put a scratch on it. (I wanted the see the scripted evacuation in action)

Then edit the plist for that. But shouldn't a ship with a length of 1.2. km not be strong?

This brings me following subjects. Maybe you know if and how to implement

1. How about special BigshipTorpedo's that first cut through the hull and then explode from the inside. So that we can destroy everything in the Ooniverse. (including stations)

2. Is it possible to script ship to ship trading. Basically I want the player to be able to trade in space with the Orisis. In space ship to ship trading would be cool. Maybe a player needs new equipment for it. A cargo transporter or a transfer drone. Or maybe the player needs to jettison his cargo and then the Orisis jettison's the other cargo to then both parties scoop the goods.
