Presumably the correct effect of trumble-missiling an NPC would be to make it really, really angry. :-)

Is there a berserk-kamikaze-attack AI that can be used to simulate that?

Dropping my .02 cr worth into the pot.
I can see the Dubious Profit as an mPak rusty Python, with a poorly applied, somewhat fresh coat of paint. IF grey primer sprayed over the rust, with random mocking grafitti from Boyracer gangs can be seen as a new paint job.
Our dear Capt'n H is, after all, known to be rather cheap when it comes to ship maintainance...Except when the crew threatens to mutiny and cycle him through the airlock.

Just a little something to titilate and amuse....
Now move along, please. Nothing more to see here.

He got it from me… because his previous one was the same pic scaled less smoothly, and the glitchiness bothered me. It’s just one of the many, many cat pictures floating around the intertubes.

As long as it doesn't say 'Have You Seen This Feline?' in big, unfriendly letters, I'm happy....

Yaj! I gots a shadered 'Dubious Profit'
Using those of the GriffCargopod unaltered.
Not all effects are as they should be, but this was just a 'dry run' as I need to get the lost D_P back from Hesperus. (If only I knew where he ran off to...)
The rusty patches are not as dull as I'd like them to be and the bare-hull patches are conversely not very shiny.
Glowy bridge and 'her name' are nicely working as perma-glowmap.
Maybe I'll put the name on the diffuselayer and add several small spotlights on the permaglow instead. (The name is VERY visible when in shadow)
edit: I'll definitely will do that, not only are they glowing in the dark, the text is alphalayer! (duh!)
Have yet to see the effects. It doesn't want to fight me.
They are overlapping a bit, so possibly I need to redo those. (also colours used were grabbed from a pallette, not true colour. problem?)

Installing shady-cobra messes up a like_ship to cobra3s.
fixed now, lets see again.
ship looks too shiney and has lost fine diffuse detail, something with the spec-map probably. try black back iso predominately white as base.
permaglow opaque. no good. reduced brightness.
Still no effects shaders. -?-
!CRAP! master psd-texture file corrupted.
some grabs:

yes, I have just reached max_capacity = critical mass of trumbles,
I'm going to (try to) use that magical number to trigger a mission.
working title: "the Path of Hesperus"
Requires j-scripting, so expect alot of ???
(maybe this critical number of trumbles is different if cargospace is different...I'll have to check this.)
hmmm...So what I understand from the data I collected is:
the first integer in save/trumbles is the absolute number of trumbles,\
the second I don't understand it fluctuates is it related to reproduction?
There seems no cargo-gobbling aspect to the trumbles, which was in the C64 version the only reason to get rid of them. (In oolite it's more the get-in-your-face aspect)
ill next check if the trumble_number is equal to this one.
I forgot what the correct property key was for this one... can't find it and I clearly remember anoying Ahruman about it and him refering to a list.....
