Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Beautiful work as always dertien! don't listen to dizzy, the gnat looks better flying backwards
This is a bit picky, but i'm just wondering if you pulled the top edge of the green square on the nose of the imperial trader just a bit 'forwards and up' it would fix those three triangulated polygons showing up in the screen shot

Hm, let me have a look at that, my calibrated eye doesn't always spot everything. I did flatten all the parts when exporting, especially the nose, But I do agree that there can be some improvement there.
Bah, well everyone had their cake and ate it, so that is good, now you can fly the Gnat any which way you like. Didn't know that in the 31 st century, reverse gear was optional.
In the meantime; some other WIP pics of the trusty old Boa that will probably be released tomorrow:

Having seen both versions, Dizzy is now inclined to agree with you.. but without having seen it both ways, it was hard to be certain.. and I truly felt that the original B&B design deserved a chance to be seen the way it was intended!Griff wrote:don't listen to dizzy, the gnat looks better flying backwards

Well, I think they both look good, and I am glad for the comment Diziet made since now we have one more ship, either way.
And being as picky as you myself Griff, I ironed out the wrinkles on the Explorer. I agree that it is not one of my cleanest models

Moray Medical Boat available in pack, screenshots as always on first post. Next up probably the Moray Starboat.
A litte sitrep of the ships still to be finished before I concentrate on the stations; being:
Modeled but need conversion to the shader:
- Puma Clipper
- Panther Clipper (with engine as subentities for future animated engines script)
Modeled, but not finished:
- Thargoid warship
- Krait
- Cobra Mk 2
- Remora
- Stingray starboat
Not modeled yet, but soon underway in no particular order
- Escape capsule
- Transporter
- Worm
- Griffin Mk 1 (based upon Griff's gorgeous ship, hope this one isn't backwards )
- Constrictor
- Viper Intereceptor (different model from the pursuit and regular cop versions)
- Tiger Trader (maybe if enough interest)
- Thargoid robot fighter
I will save the Remora and the Stingray for last, since they are not B&B designs.

wow, fantastic work on those two new ships, I especially love the moray, the row of engine/propellors on the back is inspired - wish I'd thought of that
