Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] Coyote's Run Mission
Have not yet been to Gal5, but cannot imagine for the life of me why this clearly excellent OXP does not have its own page in the Missions section of the Wiki.
I'm tempted to do it myself, but I think it deserves something a little more atmospheric than a dry reprint of the readme file. Perhaps lead off with a juicy quoted paragraph or two from the novel?

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Not done. Okti, I have taken the liberty of creating a simple page on the Wiki for this OXP (to see how to create Wiki pages).Diziet Sma wrote:I think it deserves something a little more atmospheric than a dry reprint of the readme file. Cool.. nice work too.. it's really your first attempt? (I've added a few extra links to it as well, though there's still a few to go)SandJ wrote:It does now.Diziet Sma wrote:cannot imagine why this clearly excellent OXP does not have its own page in the Missions section of the Wiki.

Nice! You might want to include a Quick Facts section e.g. as on Staer9's Shipset. You could then remove the separate License and Discussion sections and even the Download section (as long as there is only one download).

Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] Coyote's Run Mission
Would a wiki wizard be kind enough to add a pic to this OXP's wiki page, please.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Just downloaded the Coyote oxp, just after I had good laughs with the Flying Dutchman,

Just out of interest, how long were you following him, and how much was left of your ship in the end?marcusrg wrote:Well, him, most of the time.Commander McLane wrote:Who was laughing, you or him?
Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] Coyote's Run Mission
Well, I didn't have time for much, my ship exploded quick enough, before I could try anything... it happened twice... so I removed the oxp...Commander McLane wrote:Just out of interest, how long were you following him, and how much was left of your ship in the end?
But I'll try it again, maybe there's a way to survive.

Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] Coyote's Run Mission
Your ship shouldn't necessarily explode, although you should be prepared for some nasty surprises.marcusrg wrote:Well, I didn't have time for much, my ship exploded quick enough, before I could try anything... it happened twice... so I removed the oxp...Commander McLane wrote:Just out of interest, how long were you following him, and how much was left of your ship in the end?

And if you stay in a safety distance of 15km, you're even more safe. Unless you follow him to his destination, that is.
Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] Coyote's Run Mission
Yes, after reinstalling it I did just that, I ran away from it, and I was safe. I will not go after him, no way.Commander McLane wrote:Your ship shouldn't necessarily explode, although you should be prepared for some nasty surprises.
