Good man. Proud of you. :-)

I had to make some big decisions regarding Kickstarters. What do I want to back and what can I afford to back. I'm backing Drew because I have great faith in his writings and like his style. I'm backing ED because, dammit, no matter my concerns it's still the official next Elite.

And I'm now backing Limit Theory because it is one hell of a game and I thoroughly believe the guy has the potential to be the next big thing in the space-sim genre if not game development as a whole.

I apologise, Jack H, for not contributing towards your novel efforts. I have no excuse that won't sound like an excuse, but suffice to say I don't have enough experience yet of your writing style (apart from the HPA saga) or you "personally" around the forum. I feel that's worthy of an apology. :-(

I'm going to get a slap from Mrs Selezen for the Limit Theory pledge as well. Probably quite a hard one.

Yes I can see how people can get addicted to this specific form of reciprocating philanthropy.

81 minutes to go! Any chance any of you lovely people can boost the takings? Another $15,000 and Limit Theory gets dockable carriers!!

It didn't make the $200k barrier but you get carriers. :D

Spot on Tricky, carriers made it to the game. A really nice gesture from Josh. 8)

The cheeky monkey! Well, I suppose he had to include it since he'd already written it into the game!!

Awesome achievement though. I'm looking forward to it.

Thought I'd revive this thread instead of always posting about Limit Theory in random unrelated threads.

FYI: June development update is out, and it's shiny! :D

(Josh would like to apologize for the voiceover. He was really tired when he was doing it. But the pictures speak for themselves.

He does like cloudy skies, doesn't he - too much for my liking.

Yep, he does like them. He's assuring us that there'll also be systems without any dust in them. He's just not using them for his demos, because—here we go full circle—he likes dust. Also, the dust is a switchable setting, so the player will be able to turn it off.

The asteroids-casting-shadows-in-the-dust effect gets some mention in the comments, although personally I think that doesn't look very realistic.

Another step forward:

As of yesterday, Limit Theory runs on OS X. :D (It runs on Linux for about a month now.)

I'll be playing the Beta once it comes out.

September Development Update is out.

There's eye candy (dynamic lighting; see your weapons fire (and exhaust) reflect from asteroids), and there's some musings about AI, where Josh is taking a very different approach from other games.

I'm still glad to have funded this. :D

The data visualizer/editor is so stunningly beautiful, I almost cried when I saw it.

I should really stop following the links that you guys post about this. I keep on drooling on my keyboard - he's realising dreams that I never knew that I had!

In my own time I'm playing around with procedural generation of landscapes, in C and OpenGL. I suspect that if I ever saw the innards of his engine I would cry. It looks so good...

Amazes me that this is a one man show (the only other one I know that is this awesome as a one man show (for different reasons) is Artemis)
