Holy cr@p, Drew! You got an actual interview! This is getting very interesting. Congratulations - I really hope this publicity does some good for both your writing career and for the Elite and Oolite experience in general.

i also note that another forum-goes is trying the crowdfunding route and that there's another Kickstarter for an Elite novel (unrelated to the Elite Dangerous kickstarter this time). It's like someone has lit a fire under the Elite logo...

The only worry i have is that with new attempts at crowdsourcing starting up it might dilute the funding being offered to E:D and Reclamation. I suppose that, me being me, I would probably ask other people who want to give it a try to wait until the official E:D funding drive has reached target, with the same consideration for Reclamation. Unless, of course, they want to do the same thing as you and use their writing efforts to help fund Dangerous.

Exciting times, though. Again, well done. I feel somewhat honoured to be here right now.

"I was there at the dawn of the third age of Elite, ten years after the Elite-Frontier war... The Oolite Project was a dream given form - a home away from hope for travellers, bounty hunters...and pirates."

And so on.

Folks - If you haven't seen it already, there is a new video on Elite : Reclamation - it's 22 minutes long, so grab a cup of tea...

Some of you have met me in person (always down the pub... now there's a thing). If you haven't here I am pitching to the camera on the project main page. Click on the main video link...

Cheers,

Drew.

I watched it last night. It was awesome - you have, I think, single-handedly revived my desire to write something. Shame I STILL don't have the time... I don't have an hour's train journey to enjoy, just ten minutes behind the wheel of a car through Derby city centre...

I loved the outtakes at the end. :-)

Fellow combateers... less than £600 required to get us to the basic goal! Unbelievable. :?

Right on, Commanders!

Cheers,

Drew.

£50 quid (BOOM!)

I give you charts, I buy you beer, I help fund the cool shit......
Is there no end to the generosity? In this life time, for work as epic as this? Never.

RIGHT ON COMMANDER!

(I get a line of dialogue, ho ho ho! (don't worry sir, the word Shulth shall not pass my lips. I can do much, much better than that.))

I may go an extra 25 after pay day, I won't ask for a book but I have a nasty space horror monologue brewing; "The Remloc Chorus". Which may interest you. But your the captain of this ship so I will presume nothing....

:D Go Drew!

PS: I saw the kirin circling in the background of the last video. (worth the cash on it's own). That aside; it would be great victory if you not only pioneered sub-kickstarting, but also gave "fan-fiction" the respectability it does sometimes (with a good hand on the pen) richly deserve.

Yes, there is that line. I'm going to struggle to come up with something worth while...
<thinks> Ouch, that hurts..

Yeah, with out donating more money I think my "line" is a little bit of a piss take. Cos it ain't just a line. :D
Also it needs a touch of re-jigging to be "easy insert" fooer!

And even my ol' Dad has just made a pledge.

Cheers,

Drew.

And don't forget to keep a note of all these paid-for lines so they don't get hacked about (too much) during proof-reading etc...

I wonder if I should increase my pledge just to get "It's a kind of magic" in it somewhere...
