I haven't seen any....how do you notice this. Or prevent/repair it for that matter.

You can prevent it by removing the Edit button for non logged in users.
This will mean that users will have to log in to create articles or edit anything, but it's better than having to watch out for this spam.
It can be done by adding the following to the Localsettings.php file:
Code: Select all
// No anonymous editing allowed -
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['edit'] = false;
Plus, all the changes will be identified without having to sign the comment!!

Since someone else had apparently put in an entry on the ships list for the Llama, I put in some text and pictures.

so you did.
you don't want it to go more in line with the other ship entries (ie infobox pic=250px in situ, illustration pics as thumbs with captions, ends with a link to d/l the OoSat file..?

Oh...
I was hoping someone else would do all that stuff
Ookies... I'll have a go.

oh
someone else could'ave, but may not have wanted to step on any potentially sensitive author's toes.

Mate, I fly a Wolf Mk2 with Military Shield Enhancers... "Sensitive? I've heard of the word!"
I've had another go. I hope I'm not striking too irreverent a tone with my entries. You'll gather that I regard the Llama as - well, basically it's a MiG, isn't it?

no it's funny. I like it. will we see an "Alpaca"?
IRT the normal format, the blinkin lights Llamapic would be excellent for the
in situ infobox pic, since none of the other ships use an avatarpic there..
[edit]
which you had already changed. an ongoing thing this..

The Alpaca is already part of the standard OXP, it's just not named as such. The pirate Llamas you encounter are often just Llama Escorts, gone bad. However, occasionally you'll encounter the 'Alpaca' variant with it's hug Jolly Rogers and something like a 0.2LC spped boost. If you have a Mac-Tiger machine, you'll be able to look at it in A's excellent 'Dry dock' program - it's in the models section of the OXP, since I needed to apply the entire skin as a new 'model' - given the current absence of 'decals'.
I'll stick a picture on the Wiki of an Alpaca, however - it's shown in "Lurk" mode, sitting out in Galileo's equally 'breathed-upon' Link sector.
EDIT: Done

Iron ass / Ferrous Lhama, what's the difference?
I am instantly reminded of simcity whenever anyone becomes obsessive about Lhama's.
Hey that is a nice lama...we could use it for fierce rodents.

Hi all, what is the status of the Old Oosat and the Oosat2 pages. I was going to add the "Black Baron" mission to the mission page of the wiki and wondered which site to point downloaders to.
Oosat
http://capnhack.com/hosting/oolite/Ooli ... on.oxp.zip
Oosat2
http://oosat.alioth.net/files/active/0/ ... ron1_2.zip
Perhaps, this is a bad example, as I believe that only the newer version is on Oosat2.
I guess my question is: What is the fate of the Capnhack site. Do all hyperlinks in the wiki need to be updated to the new Oosat.alioth addresses?
If so, I'll be happy to start with the missions page.
Let me know. Michael

yes, no reason to wait with updating the links, other than that they may not all have been transferred yet

Thanks Murgh. I'll work on it tomorrow.
