Re: Oolite Paper Models
Wow, even the commander is visible inside the cockpit. Wonderful attention to detail, Raytheon!
Re: Oolite Paper Models
this abandoned topic need fresh wind
at first, great models Selezen, I wil sure build all, but now I have broken left hand (and 3 screws in the forearm :/ ), it will take a while
I have installed OXP Torus Stations and really like Torus Station - Tradecenter, It led me to the idea to build
a some paper models from Oolite universe (in future sure Torus stations too)
python conversion files not works (rather, I don't know, how to use them), .obj file from .dat file is small and Blender
can't import it, but thanks to another_commander I have all .obj files with oolite models and work in sketchup can start
first it was necessary to determine the size of objects that the ship library did not have the dimensions
by size it was to be chosen scale, ships 1:1000, stations and asteroids 1:6000 and my first attempt with bigger asteroid
in pepakura designer
it is possible print asteroid on a gray thin cardboard (about 150gr/m2), but in the future I am sure need help with
obtaining textures for ships

There are a lot of cat people around here, and we know how a cat person without a cat always has a small emptiness, a hole in their life. Hopefully one day another cat will be able to adopt you.toudi_sk wrote:...my cute furry friend is dead over 3 years

OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

Re: Oolite Paper Models
asteroid alpha build is finished
now I succesfully obtain in Metasequoia a texture mask from asteroid and this shape is insane
---
@ spud42 - in case of interest I can upload .pdo files, no problem
my pal has been 16 year old
@ Smivs - I have in work some adepts
(photo from 2012: white/red cat say- It was the end of the world, the black cat- was not!)
no, I have build older BBC/ Acorn Electron black and white version ships, oolite models are new, and I will sure use some textures
* I really love Fallout and Fallout 2 (and change a lot of graphics signs from EN to CZ version), Fallout Tactics was too not bad, but this FPS like style F3 is not for me, F4 is something between

Re: Oolite Paper Models
Perhaps you need a ship's cat too?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: Oolite Paper Models

and meanwhile in real life
---
today I found out how to change the size of textures in Metasequoia and some attempts with them (1024vs256 pixels) in MS Paint
(I´m only edited them, not created, of course)
