Looks a bit like desert camo!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I like the brown ship!

As to the Thargoids, they seems like a further step along from my already slightly psychedelic 'Terroriser Frigate (Anti-Poet variant)' - from my 'Extra Thargoids' OXP!

Here i used a 25% gray specular map with gloss alpha from a_c

Here i used different gloss values on different panels,
a high gloss value 1.0 ( or white ) means it retains little from the original diffuse color
