Nice!

What are the little black dots - most noticeable top hemisphere - things in orbit?

That would be space dust.

(The ability to hide dust for screen shots will be in 1.73, along with slow mode for easier positioning. Yay!)

Whats the specs on the Griff Boa?
Do they have side mounted turrets?
See pic- looks like one to me & as I flew past it was twitching just like those on the Black Monk stations do when you're docking....
Nice

i'm not sure why the turrets are so twitchy on the griffboa, i did have a fiddle trying out different values for the 'thrust' key in their shipdata.plist but i couldn't find a cure :(

anyway, look! bumpy!!

I shouldn't really be spamming this thread with unfinished work, but the normal map stuff that the devs have lined up for Oolite v1.73 is amazing, I can't resist showing stuff off. The decal had fallen off the ship in the first screenie, so here's another one with the decal in place and polygon smoothing switched off, and a lower specular exponent setting (makes the highlight area bigger), still not sure whether i need to paint in hull lights to brighten it up a bit?

It's not spamming when its Griff ships...

Wow. Wow... wow...
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

Ooogasm :P

Good work Griff!!!

EDIT

You could make also coloured (green, red, bleu etc) versions of it by adjusting the colour balance in Photoshop. I'm sure that Paintshop Pro or The Gimp also can do that
