Oolite Bulletins

Playing with a new atmosphere shader. Not in trunk yet because it seems that we lose the orange tinted terminator if we use it in its current form. I think it looks good though.

I was thinking that too! But, in the first picture, is a bit of the ring missing when it should not be?

Looks like the shadow play is giving the shaders a little trouble maybe, it's the stars that are showing where the planets shadow covers the rings, of course if the star is bright enough you possibly could see a hint of it through the ring maybe. Just my perspective as an artist and I may be wrong. lol

The latest version of Rings takes advantage of new features in Oolite that allow the rings to be transparent (and variably transparent, I believe), which is why the stars are visible through the shadow effect.

Basically, it's not a bug, it's a feature!
