Voidhawks/Blackhawks? Cody, i had to look that up and will say it qualifies. was b bit unsure but i read a page where it said it had a crew so it's in.

Cadeuceus, I also had to check this out. Originally i thought it was just a self healing hull material. But having read the authors wiki and several forum threads it was definite meant to be biomechanoid . talk of DNA and cloning of fragments into full ships etc.

So lets turn this around and have 3 (because I dont think I know 5 myself though Im sure there are) stories where the lead character or narrator is not biological.

So we arent looking for Lord of the Rings because although its notionally about the Ring, the Ring isnt the main character, and we arent looking for Robocop because he is partly or mostly human.

I, Robot (1939) Story by Eando Binder which was told from a robot's viewpoint long before Asimov used the title. Several stories about the character, Adam Link, were eventually published as a fix-up "novel".

Okay, continuing the robotic theme, let's have five stories in which human and robotic partners team up, not necessarily to fight crime. The partnership must be more or less equal.

To make it a little more challenging let's have ONE each of:

• a TV series or one-off drama
• a book (or shorter printed fiction)
• a film
• a comic
• a web comic

Two works derived from the same source or author aren't allowed. e.g. if the novel "Robocop and Burt - Together they Fight Crime" was also filmed and made into a comic only one of them would be allowed.

They do - that takes the film slot, so no other films can be used, or other works derived from the novella Farewell to the Master by Harry Bates.

Back in the 1990s one of my RPG supplements had a scenario featuring aliens who had their own language - since I don't actually know any foreign languages my playtests used the phrase Klaatu barada nikto every time, just altering the intonation and spacing to convey the meaning. e.g.

(barked) Klaatu! Klaatu! Barada nikto! - Hands up filthy Earthling scum
(lovingly) Oh Klaatu... barada nikto! - Fancy some alien nooky big boy?
and so forth. One of the player characters commented "Obviously a language of few words but many meanings"
