Nice texture - for a sun or a gas giant.

Thing is for stars, unless you're doing some mega filtering at the viewer level , they really should just appear as super bright balls of fusion powered gas, should they not?

Sunspots and plumes though - I think would be good and therefore perhaps, they could remain 2D?

If you're able to fly into this thing to scoop fuel, or even just view the thing from outter space in general, you're already doing some heavy filtering. Sunspots and Coronal Mass Ejections would be cool, but I don't know if they could be pulled off code or texture wise.

I'm working on a few more... White dwarf for one... A a yellow giant...

Oh, and neutron star texture for after one goes nova... (I'm assuming there is still a star present in Oolite after a star has gone nova...)

Mining stuff looks cool. By any chance can we run through, steal the pods as they pop out, and run off (with the space bar slightly mad at us for dodging its plasma turrets?)
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

Would be nice if yo can buy these machines for yourself, put them on an astroid and come back later to harvest the ore.

Actually the concept existed in Elite 2 and Elite 3.
If memory serves it was a very expensive and big piece of equipment that actually needed some tons from your cargo hold in order to get it. Only the bigger ships could have that mining machine.

It's the original (and my preferred version) of the Trader's Outpost is it not - where did you find it - the version I downloaded was the more subdued version... :(

The link can be found in the following thread https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=4625

I was searching for 2 hours in order to find it so I post in this tread just to make sure it will come to the surface for a while (but this is a temporary solution).
As I have said it would be a terrible waste of resources if the model eventually becomes obsolete.
If memory serves some members of the forum have found this version of the station (the one with the ads) a little bit err… to funky !! for replacing the coriolis station so Griff removed the ads.
In the final post of this tread I made the suggestion of integration with PutYourAdHere oxp as a replacement of constores. What you think? Nobody in the future will complain about the ads if this station exists in an oxp dedicated to ads

Also just found a Griff Krait, WOW
he was 'offender' status & it was a bit busy  but I managed to pull along side & have a look out of the port view before I shot him....
The detailing is AMAZING & no discernable frame rate degrade- ok I forgot to check....
Sorry for not removing the HUD before taking the pic but I wasn't cloaked...

Edited to say I found the pic - Enjoy

Of course you can. Just press 'P' to pause, then 'O' to switch HUD off. When you want it back, press 'P' to pause, then 'N'. Voila!
