Simple and hopefully quick set of 5: name 5 sci-fi computer(or console) games/game universes you consider had and implemented good story lines.

Asteroids - not check (and by naming, I'll try to prevent the "make your own story" types of Elite/Oolite/Elite: Dangerous/No Man's Sky)
Space Quest - check
Mass Effect - check
Fallout - check

Still, I think Cody deserves a mention in despatches for humour above and beyond the call of duty.

Portal - not the one with teleportation, an ambitious 1980s adventure thing which I never actually managed to complete.

Possibly Halo

(that) Portal - check
Other titles I would've expected: (in the same line with Wing Commander) Privateer, StarCraft (there is a very nice story line along the monotonous real time strategy), Freelancer (yup, Chris Roberts again), Lost Planet. I guess even HomeWorld can be said to have a quite well defined, tempered and outlined story to tell.
Tag switched to ffutures.

OK, let's see if anyone can come up with five stories / films / whatevers in which a sun is weaponized in some way. No two from the same canon, as usual.
