Looks very innocent, but needs a closer look.
Never logged on.
User name shows some recent hits on SFS, but it's a very common name so may be false hits in this case.
Zilch information in profile (looks like a place holder)

Again, looks very innocent, but needs a closer look.
Nothing on SFS, but shows up as a recently registered member on several forums on google.
Again there is zilch information in profile (looks like a place holder)

Do any real people use hotmail, I wonder? It seems to be the email of choice for bots lately... more so than gmail.

Smivs looks up from his armchair, thinks somebody must have left the gates open last night - 30 plus 'new members' to exterminate - He gets the mop and bucket ready to clear up the blood/ichor/haemolymph...

I think, perhaps, a hose might be more appropriate ...
58 spambots made it through to registration since around 2 a.m. - most between 6 and 7 a.m. GMT, and most (over 50) were practically identical, and came from just half a dozen IP addresses, now blocked. Man, some spammer is desperate to shift a lot of knockoff handbags ... one can only assume that if he doesn't, the Triad will take his thumbs. To which I say, "Why stop there?"

Just one of those nights, eh? They waited 'til after I'd logged-off for the night too - sweet!

Yup - it was obviously all from the same bot: all arriving within ten or twenty minutes, all from one very close spread of IPs, and every one of them had tried to start a new thread, each titled something along the lines of "[insert name of designer label] randomletter-randomnumber". Most of the profiles also carried links to some site pimping the same label.

Must be something about it being summer solstice - I just had a small batch like that.

Aye, something's stirring in the spamosphere today! I just took a trawl of the top 20 IPs from SFS and barred them: they're all rotten with bots. Maybe that'll plug up the gushers for now ...
