No, AFAICS two or three users intensely dislike the idea, which is pfc. But I'm not convinced it does anyone harm and does provide some useful tracking data for me. There's been no flood of spam and no widespread loss of usability.

I could still be swayed otherwise, but I've noted life on the forum is going on pretty much as normal with the like button there - so it can still stay for now.

For reasons that have long since been lost in time, I'm using FF to access Facebook even though Opera is my browser of choice. So I've just ignored the button, since it's not connected to FB anyway.

I don't use the button, there's not really anything here (or on any site I visit for that matter) that's "worth writing home about" I do use facebook, but dislike it when people spam FB with every minutiae that happens in their lives.

I don't have a facebook account, and have never wanted one, so I found it annoying at first. Now I don't even notice it, except when I come across a post of mine when I am not logged; then I have the temptation to make an account, so that I can see where it leads when I click on it. Then reality strikes and I realize that it would just tell me that "Commander Wilmot" has no account listed.

Weird, I just realized that the "like" button shows up on your posts even when you are logged in.

Facebook "Like" button removed with update to phpbb 3.0.9.

I deleted the 'No FB' style too, since it's now superfluous.

Updating software is fraught enough without having to work around these things.

I would "Like" that if it were still here.

There I was hacking away at the Spam and suddenly *poof* a message from Giles saying "Don't Panic" (actually there was a brief spell where there was no message at all and I thought I'd broken something...)

Feeling ya. I once locked myself and everyone else out of my forum by forgetting to change a single system path URL when I migrated the forum to a new domain name and folder. Yeeeeeow, that was scary. (Got it back via maintenance mode)

Might I humbly suggest that a notice is posted in announcements or in Outworld somewhere so as not to induce heart attacks in the Oolite community.
