You can lead a group of pirates through your own wormhole, though. I just had four follow me through a deliberate mis-jump into interstellar space... where three Thargoid warships were waiting. By the time the bandits arrived, the warships had already deployed plenty of drones... a very entertaining, but heavily damaging, firefight ensued.
