If a player version of the Orisis class is released what specs does such a ships have? Can anyone do a guess for speed, strength energy reload and Cargo capacity and so on?

I think a player also only can buy it then at the new upcoming station as this has a cruiser dock.
As far as I know you can't have stations only sell certain ships...?

And for ship specs for large player ships, look at the dredgers, they are biggest player ships I've seen.

Size comparison to a normal Coriolis.
Now some tweaks have to be made.

Me likes.. VERY much..

Having said that, like the Orisis Liner itself, I think if the windows at the ends were reduced in size/increased in number, it would convey a much better sense of the size of the beast.

Yes, nice and shiny. :D

Can turreted ships fly in or do they explode like in Fuel stations?

It still needs some testing. I plan to test it with a big ship.

Whenever there has been a war, famine or a planet wide disease the Orisis Polar first aid cruiser is underway. featuring first class medical facilities. :D

Excellent concept.

Quick question - three red shaded lines along the bottom - do they really not meet between the side bulge and the main hull or is that purely a visual angle issue?

I think they should...

Sorry to interrupt you again with this program.

Last week I started working on a concept I longed to make when I could model. Now that I slowly start getting used to Wings3d I made the Aurora Class- Galaxy Queen. See it as a Super Cruiser a space equivalent of cruise liners like the Freedom of the Seas or the Queen Mary II. It should be a unique ship. There's only 1 in all of the 8 galaxy's. Making the chance to see very rare. Maybe the Aurora class itself can have more variations. I'il look into that later.

Image

The Galaxy Queen is a supersized megaship. With a length of 4.3 km it is a city on it's own. Here's a size comparison:

Image

I textured non-stop for almost 20 hrs and still it's not finished. Working with a 4096 by 4096 texture and plan on down scaling it for light-versions.

Image

Here you can see the enormous engines. Each one is as high as a modern tower block with a diameter of at least 180 meters. The ship is (I think ) about 800 or 900 meters in height. That's as high as the highest skyscraper currently under construction on earth: The Burj Dubaj.

The texture work pays of:

Image

I hope someone one day could help me writing a special OXP for it. Basically it's should be ship with all sorts of things onboard:

Equipment shop
Market
Hoopy Casino
(bank)
Missions to take clients to planets? (taxi). So see it a sort of flying planetfall location.

Although not armed it's construction is very strong. It should survive multiple Q-bomb attacks.

Currently It does not have a hangar or a docking port. I could 'hang' it under the belly. Any ideas on that?

The engine configuration and detailing is excellent. And the mid-ships close up shows that the texture is actually pretty good - to be honest it looks better close up then it does in the full ship image.

I like big - so love the concept - what's its collision box gonna be like?

Isn't there a floating city being built here on good old Earth at the moment? Designed for the super-rich, but has a mini-private on board to "discourage" piracy.

Yep, you have to be close to see the details.

Looking at this monster I can hardly guess just how could one of those be destroyed with any current Oolite weapon (well, with the exception of Q-bomb).

Although not meant it's now a almost a Star Destroyer. But the model is luckily different enough. (Star Destroyer is smaller though)

Also made a hangar.

This time the screenshots are deliberately higher resolution so you can see some details.[/img]
