Famous Planets 2.0. Worlds of Galaxy 2 expansion in the making

Image

Hi fellow Ooliteers,

At the moment I textured 2 routes in Galaxy 2.0. For the the next Famous planets expansion pack

Worlds of Galaxy 2 will be happily to run on an existing FP2.0. installation or as a standalone. I also plan on offering a plist and script update separate as these are necessary for future updates.

Worlds of Galaxy 2 is inspired by the Excellent Vector maps by ClymAngus

This is a WIP (Work in Progress) so don't ask when it's ready. It's done when it's done. ;) Maybe I release it in 2 parts as Galaxy 2.0 seem to have a lot of spaceways.

This is the current progress:

Spaceway 2-L3= Textures done > Now descriptions in the making
The Tomoka Run= Textures done> Now descriptions in the making

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
If you want to contribute a texture then PM me or post it here. Of course you are mentioned in the manual and credits. 8)

This is the current status of the FP2 Galaxy 2.0.. The Green, Yellow and half the Red routes are done. But you can now fly in a circle over the Red and Green Route. (Also called 'The Ring road')

Tonight i've sent the new planet descriptions to Drew for proofreading.

Next to do is a very interesting area. The Redline stars:

Ceiner has a hard time being the only democratic system while it's secretly manipulated by the communist states of Zaesre, Zeexeve and Zetbiso. Whie Atazaxe is secretly supporting Ceiner.

Anyone want to make an oxp for that? Should give some interesting 'cold war' missions.

View the Famous Planets Promo Video on Youtube

I made a promo video of the WIP Famous Planets 2.0. Worlds of Galaxy 2.0.OXP with custom music!

Enjoy. Also a great showcase of some Griff Objects. Make sure you view it in HQ.

The "Tube Stations" I think you're describing the Fuel Stations (as created by Thargoid)

No... in the video, there were "tube stations" (at least one - it rotated) that were not fuel stations. They were very detailed. Reminds me a lot of Griff's work.

Yeh, sorry, about 2:50 in - it's another of of PAGroove's stations I think - to go with the Aurora - a super dock/station for these supersized ships. Can't remember which OXP its in though - or what its called.

Nice.

I'm planning to do more video's. This was my first one. Did a whole night editing.

Planets shown are (not in this order) Resori, Diraza, Veerge, Usoron and Erlage. All in the center of Galaxy2. The icy one is Erlage. Home of one of the biggest prisons in Galaxy 2. The Erlage corridor is named for transporting prisoners to this world. Also see the Vector map topic for that.

Great vid, pagroove! 8)

Nice editing work, too..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
