speaking of antennae and stuff, i remember ships in ELite like the Cobra and Asp had a spikey bit on the nose - seemed to be just a drawn line, like the Kraits' (guns?). When i did similar on the Vampires, they had to be very thin squashed square tubes ~ seems odd that all the 3D programs can do all sorts of clever tricks but have lost the ability to do lines. Or, is it just my cheapy progs that can't do them? :-/

Vector lines are called splines (sometimes) Thing is that when you're modelling in 3D splines are only cisible in 2 dimensions, and since objects get smaller the further you go away, they would soon vanish.

I think.

Refering to the Red Dwarf model - the original model would be very difficult, but the, ahem, 'remastered' one, should be do-able - even a basic version.

The Battlestar looks awesome - will it have the wee ships coming out (I think the were called Vipers) when you shoot at it?

All true - but the 'remastered' version was a travesty.

This is also true (the remastered version was dreadful) but it could work for Oolite and have the opportunity for a hoooge capital style ship. Perhaps you could dock with it and trade minerals, precious metals and gem stones (at a cheap price) and sell food, textiles and porn (oops, luxuries heh heh).

Ok, probably a bit like trading with Rock Hermits and also way way of topic as well. Just a thought.

She's two and a halve times longer than a station, takes about ten seconds to fully fly by, when your up close!

It's great fun to fly around her, in and out of the struts looking at the texture detail.

I'm still not happy with the one docking bay, if only I could figure out a cunning plan for two.

OK! ...any chance of a 3/4 view from a little further away, so that we can see the engine nacelles/weapon pods in profile?
Very funny, Scotty, now beam down my clothes...
