The manifest server's address is a setting, right? Make that changeable by OXZ.
:canofworms: Aww. And add a can-of-worms smiley to the BB
Then y'all could start new installations with a restricted list of OXZs in the manager, one of which could be "Unlock universe of half-baked OXZs". (Replacing half-baked with whatever term is necessary to appease delicate egos.)

I would like to use this so I uploaded an "Ambiences recommended by Norby" OXZ into the Ambience category which contain dependencies to
my recommendations.
This is a much faster way to install common packages so I will be happy if it will work, just currently I ended up without several required packages and I am not sure that the problem is at me only or not. Please test it.

Ergg... not by oxz.
I think the right way to do this would be to have "repositories".
The main repository would be the current one, and a player would be able to add a repository address from which he would be able to download a list of oxz.
This way, a oxz developer willing to maintain its own repository could.
Similar to ubuntu repositories for example.

You can currently pick a new manifest address by editing your hidden config file. Allowing multiple manifest addresses to be added simultaneously is an interesting idea and something to consider for 1.84 if it looks like anyone might have a need for it.

I'm getting a superimposition of "that sounds like fun" & "that sounds so lame" vibes from reading them. I was hoping to elicit a more first-hand, experience-based description...?
On the off-topic: yes, a superposition of "oh, puhleeze" and "wow, cool". The first couple of hundred caches showed me places within ten miles of home that I'd never have visited otherwise. After that, I started noticing how much time I was spending finding rubbish, so stopped. But I still maintain a few caches of my own and I enjoy reading the positive comments they elicit.
On-topic: more to the point, the system in place at geocaching.com is a good example of how a "favourites" voting/recommendation system can work really well.

The author of Engine Trails here (the hiatus was because I'm working on my MA and to boot, I had net problems).
I would like to remove the (bugged, as it turns out) version from the manager completely, how do I do this?
A 'broken' flag for the manager would be a good idea for the future.

Just go into your admin page, and change it from Active to Delete, I think.
Nice to see you back, and good luck with the MA.

then I can make a new entry within my login in the oxz admin page and upload a new version
This method is working well in the case of dead hosting also, but when the new upload is done the administrator of the admin page should change the entry of broken download to Draft state to avoid the long unknown/unknown message.
So cim, please set Draft on old BGS and Jaguar Company in Tricky's login.
