The icon used on oolite.org, the wiki and the forum is in ICO format, but is a multi-resolution icon. This is required to look good on, ironically, Macs with retina displays. Works great in Safari 6…

I can live with having a white space instead of a favicon. Although you'd think that the browser should display the generic icon when it can't display the custom one. :roll:

Apparently one of the leading Dutch newspapers (Volkskrant.nl) also updated their favicon. That site now also shows a space instead of a favicon on Safari 5.x. It is the second now in my URL library, but I expect more will follow in the future. However, upgrading Safari means upgrading my system first and that means buying some new software first. :(
So, probably I leave the missing favicon for what it is.
