Well, for a tiny 25mm ship in basic plastic it's about $7 for each ship without a base and the quality from Shapeways is pretty poor. No detail would be visible and there would be very prominent moulding/cutting lines from the sculpting process.

Shipping from Shapeways is quite expensive too.

That would make quite a stretch goal! Now imagine doing them in metal...

A nice chap offered me his services as a 3D printer, but as I said Frontier Devs nixed it. Shame, they would have been much nicer and much easier to produce.

I like 3D models with the proper shape and I enjoy making them small and simple but the ED ships are looking to be quite complex things. :-(

Two updates in a day is not considered spam.
Just did a second full read through of your Kickstarter. Awards are looking a bit complicated now. Would you consider making a table showing what awards are available at what pledge tier. (Something like this)
Also, it might be worth while showing a picture of some models you have made and built. Especially the character model has made my curious, as I have a problem imagining what it will look like.

Already on it - I have a text version ready, and a graphic will be forthcoming.

I am planning to do something of that sort, but the problem is I don't have time (or space) to build them at the moment. All my time is spent working on the 15 other things that the kickstarter involves, like dice, publicity, updates, messages, POD and bulk printing queries, writing an outline of the game system proposal, miniature design etc.

The character miniature will be a card model format that is often described as a "flat", but with an optional crosspiece. The main mini will be a front/back orientation, and the optional crosspiece will be the side view. I'll be drawing up an electronic mockup soon. I already have one for the ship model that should be in a forthcoming update.

It's always "coming soon" with me, innit?? ;-)

Mission accomplished... so far, anyway! Congrats, Sel!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
