I'm going to leap into the fray with my first post to this forum!
I've just received a new Raspberry Pi today and it's got 512Mb RAM. All the new Model B boards from 15th Oct 2012 have 512MB as standard.
Hopefully that solves the memory issue!
I certainly agree that getting it onto the R-Pi and into schools would be a wonderful idea.
If it's possible to squeeze Oolite into a Raspberry Pi I shall go straight off and build a mini Orac case for it
BTW I only just found out about Oolite via the Elite:Dangerous Kickstarter campaign.
Not played Elite since it came out (back as a collage student
)

Then you are in for a treat! Now it looks the way it did in our minds, all those years ago..

As far as I can tell, I'll probably keep playing Oolite till the day I die.....

I don't intend to let dying get in the way of playing Oolite.. heck, it'll give me more time to play..

RL

Oh yes... especially if you're in a nasty anarchy system, listening to
Dogs from the
Animals album!
That is one of my abiding memories of playing BBC Elite... that and Beethoven's
Sixth, for some strange reason!

That probably means getting uploaded to the main mind upon death where you can play all the simulations you want to play

Sounds very "Culture" like.

That's a great song EV, perfect for Oolite.
For the record, I don't plan on ever abandoning Oolite either. As Lone_Wolf once told me
I found Oolite and it has never left my harddrive since
and I couldn't possibly put it better than that
.
